We had such an amazing dinner at Matteo. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The lasagna was rich, flavorful, and topped with the perfect amount of cheese — honestly one of the best lasagna dishes I’ve had in a long time. The calamari was light, crispy, and not greasy at all, with a great dipping sauce.

The atmosphere at the bar was cozy and stylish, and the service was great. You can really tell they put love into their food and details.

Definitely recommend and will be coming back! ❤️ ✨

This was my first time going to Matteo’s. I went with my husband for a night in SLC before the Jazz game. The new Chase sapphire reserve credit card gives dining credits and this is one of the select locations. That’s what brought us here and I’m so glad it did!!

The service was amazing and our waiter took very good care of us. It was the perfect amount of checking in but not being overbearing. I didn’t take pictures of everything but some things that’s stood out were the Lasagna, focaccia bread, caesar salad and chocolate mousse dessert.

The restaurant had great lighting and felt like the perfect date night location!

Had an pretty good dining experience here while visiting Salt Lake City! The food was overall good, but the Aragosta (lobster pasta) was a massive standout—it was savory, rich, and loaded with fresh seafood. We also tried the Tuna Tartare, which was fresh and perfectly prepared. Although the price is a bit on higher side, but overall experience is still good.

We went for our anniversary and it was amazing. Adam our server, was very attentive and made us feel so welcomed the entire time. The food was great and tasted authentic. The staff was clean, organized, and professional. We loved the pasta, but my chicken was honestly the tastiest I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had an excellent dinner at Matteo but the food needs a few tweaks. The fungi ravioli were incredible and the cioppino was flavorful. I wanted our calamari to be crispier – it was quite ordinary, like the oil it was fried in was not hot enough. The bread service is meh. They said their focaccia is homemade but it doesn’t taste it. The vanilla bean pannacotta was quite good and the chocolate mousse was ordinary. They brought us a gelato by accident – and that was actually our favorite. We had the chocolate hazelnut and it was very hazelnutty with chunks of hazelnut and chocolate. We tried two kinds of spritz (Hugo and Rosie) and both were great, as was the wine. We’d eat here again but we’ll navigate around a few things that aren’t worth it.

From out of state and visiting friends—highly recommend Matteo’s—their pasta is made from scratch and the flour they make it with is imported from Italy as well as several of their aged Parmesan cheeses. How much more Italian can you get? We ordered a couple pasta dishes (tagliatelle bolognese and paccheri alla vodka) and they were fabulous! Service was exceptional too—highly recommend! PS—best to call and make reservations as this place does get busy—I overheard the hostess at the front podium sadly having to turn down service because they were completely booked up for the night!

This Italian restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience. The food is absolutely incredible—authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients in every dish. The portions are perfectly balanced: generous enough to satisfy, yet thoughtfully composed.

The service is outstanding. The staff is extremely attentive, professional, and welcoming, making you feel valued from the moment you arrive. Their attention to detail elevates the entire experience.

The desserts are also amazing and the perfect way to end the meal. Everything about this place reflects true Italian hospitality and culinary excellence.

Highly recommended. This is a restaurant I would confidently suggest to anyone looking for high-quality Italian cuisine and impeccable service.

Great dining experience. Food was delicious and staff was friendly. The ribeye special was cooked perfectly. Great desserts. Also they have complimentary valet parking which made it super easy to get in and out.

Great tasting food, great service, a little noisy. Would come again.

The bread was good, especially the focaccia(?). Made me want Detroit deep dish.

Antipasto: Polpette
> Sauce was a strong and flavorful tomato. Sausage was delicious. Meatballs were not my favorite, but not bad.

Primo: Aglio e Olio
> Think of a strong garlic bread, but with homemade noodles instead of bread, and a little red pepper flakes.

Secondo: Pollo
> Chicken was battered and fried, and a little dry, but sauce is provided. Wasn’t a fan of the lemon butter sauce though. The carrots and broccolini were cooked to perfection however.

Dessert: Tiny heart shaped cheesecake
> It’s pretty and tasty. It is rich, sits on a cookie, and is filled with a berry jam. Delightful.

It is pricy, but I wouldn’t mind coming again someday.

This is my family’s favorite restaurant to come to for special occasions. We love the whipped brie appetizer. The bread service is a must! So yummy! We’ve tried the paccheri alla vodka, lasagna al ragu, and the chicken, and they are all fantastic! The service is top notch as well!
