My mom ordered this for us when visiting San Antonio and I am glad she did. The pothole pizza was excellent. The margherita pizza was great and the pepperoni rolls were phenomenal. We had pizza and rolls to eat on for a few days. The art work on the inside of the pizza boxes was pretty cool too. Check them out!

I have to say I was surprised. Im very leery of chain pizza restaurants as Im from south NJ and have an extremely high standard when it comes to pizza. Capo’s will always be my favorite but Mattengas is definitely my new go-to in a pinch. The pizza was not bad at all, crust on the thinner side as it should be and the cup pepperoni is really good! I had pizza rolls too and the marinara dipping sauce was very decent. The basil garlic ranch is AMAZING, like a creamy pesto sauce, YUM! My only complaint was the extremely high $10 and change delivery fee. I hope that goes back to the drivers. Also, my delivery showed as failed so I went outside and thats when the guy walked up….nobody had tried to contact me either, but I did end up getting the food!

Mattenga’s is my very favorite local pizza place. The food is fantastic, with clever specials (Pothole Pizza is pretty unique!) and great appetizers/sides too.
I frequent Mattenga’s because unlike all the other chains, they do NOT utilize cheap vegetable (soybean) oil. I have a soy intolerance, so this is a godsend.
This is a hole-in-the-wall joint. I go here for take-out. Accommodations in person are minimal, hence the low atmosphere score. **If you want a nice dine-in experience, go to the Selma Mattenga’s instead. It’s a great spot!**

Pizza was the best we’ve had in a while… Loved the option of having Green Chiles — a nice heat vs. jalapenos! The crust is AMAZING — I need someone to share the secret, or I’ll just have to keep coming back! Absolutely loved Mattenga’s — from the easy/clear online ordering process, to pick-up, to (especially!) eating it.

We placed an order through DoorDash since Mattenga’s does not deliver to our address. I understand that ordering through a third-party service can sometimes limit what the store is able to do directly. However, the pizza we received was made incorrectly even though the receipt clearly showed the correct order. DoorDash issued a refund of less than $10, which didn’t really resolve the issue considering the order was wrong. I called the store simply hoping for some assistance or guidance, but the response I received was just a quick “sorry” before I was rudely hung up on. 1st time getting food and loved it. The calzone pastry was a cloud, sooo good. Ordered online, easy. Only improvement, fix the website to give more than 3 calzone veggie choices. Next time I’ll call in and order so I can customize further. Yes, we’ll be returning. Supreme sausage has sneak up on you heat and perfect spices. VERY SATISFYING❣️

Ordered some food half pepperoni and half cheese for the kids. I got the hot honey jalapeño one for myself. It was I mean fresh ingredients and you always know it is when the crust is good too . I Ordered it for pick up my mom went said the ppl at the restaurant where nice and polite. I will definitely be ordering to go again or eating there with my family.

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, healthy and delicious. The tiramisu was also excellent and delicious. The owner of the restaurant was very friendly, cheerful and patient, and the staff were polite. Family night will be at this restaurant every week.

I can’t say enough about Mattengas! We’ve been happily ordering from them for years, but I wanted to highlight this particular location for making our Valentine’s Day perfect. When our dasher was lagging behind, the gentleman took it upon himself to make sure we had fresh hot pizza without us even asking. Impeccable customer service that will keep us coming back again and again. Not to mention the taste. We ordered the vegan cheese due our daughter’s dairy sensitivities. We’re not vegan by any means but it was DELICIOUS. A picky five year old ate almost an entire 10-inch pizza and was none the wiser. Mattengas, you have customers for life!!!!
