If you are looking for an authentic and upscale dining experience without the exorbitant price tag, Matsukawa Sushi & Ramen Cuisine in St. Augustine is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk through the door, you are transported into a space that beautifully honors Japanese culture through its superb interiors and welcoming atmosphere.

Exceptional Service
The staff here sets a gold standard for customer service. We were greeted by smiling, welcoming faces and felt truly cared for throughout our meal. The team is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to help you navigate the menu to choose the perfect dish, ensuring your experience is nothing short of perfect.

Culinary Highlights: Perfection on a Plate
The food was simply awesome, with every dish boasting incredible taste and artistic presentation.
• Veg and Tofu Hibachi: This was arguably the best hibachi I’ve ever had. It came with a fresh salad topped with a delicious ginger sauce and a flavorful clear soup—the perfect start to the meal.
• Kara Miso Ramen: The ramen was superb. The broth was rich and well-balanced, and the presentation was so beautiful it felt like a shame to eat it!
• The Best Boba in Town: You cannot leave without trying their Boba tea. It was perfect—neither too sweet nor watery. I highly recommend the Mango Boba Tea with litchi jelly and popping bubbles; it is easily the best boba I have tried recently.

The Verdict: Affordable Luxury
Dining at Matsukawa feels like eating at a Michelin-star restaurant, yet the prices remain very reasonable for the quality you receive. There is absolutely no room for complaint here. Between the superb service, the stunning presentation, and the delicious flavors, this has become a place I plan to visit again and again.

Strongly recommended for everyone!

Super cute spot, all of our food was fresh, hot, and packed a lot of flavor while still tasting light and not over done. We had sushi rolls, hibachi and ramen, all were delicious! Not terribly busy on a Saturday and our food came out quickly.

We visited this cafe in search of delicious sushi and were not disappointed! The rolls were fresh and well-prepared, and the miso soup had a rich flavor. A special mention goes to the staff – very friendly and attentive, creating a cozy atmosphere.

However, there is one downside – the prices seem unreasonably high compared to the quality and portion sizes. Overall, it’s a nice place, but the cost of the dishes could be more justified.

Dined at this place for the first time tonight and probably the best Japanese experience I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere reminded me Japan, very clean and well decorated to match the food being served. The food was amazing and tasted fresh, sushi loaded with fish unlike some places that overload it with rice. Our server Carlo, was very sweet, attentive and on point each time we had questions or ordered something.

Thank you and we will definitely be coming back!

This place is overall great. The only reason why I give it four stars is because my hibachi meal was overcooked. My fish was very burnt and dry, and my shrimp was extremely chewy. The rice was also soggy, not traditional fried rice hibachi. Other than that, it was very flavorful. The atmosphere was amazing. The staff was very nice and polite and my kids had Ramen and it was also very good. We will most likely return hopefully the overcooked meats was just a one time thing.

Food was phenomenal! The chicken fried rice was moist, fresh, and flavorful. The edamame was perfectly steamed with the bean having just the right texture. Sushi was perfectly portioned. Staff was friendly and this is definitely a family friendly place. Relaxing music and the atmosphere is calm and clean.

Cute decor and atmosphere and great sushi and hibachi. You wouldn’t expect it looking from the outside but it’s very nice inside and both service and food was amazing. The only thing I probably would not recommend is the boba teas. They are pricey at 7$ (with boba) and not the best. Not sure it’s worth the price when I usually get amazing boba tea for about 5.50$. But sushi was REALLY good and not badly priced. Highly recommend the Godzilla roll! The best!
