Stopped for lunch and charge on drive back home. Ordered bento boxes. Beef teriyaki, gyoza and spicy tuna rolls on one; spicy chicken and mix tempura on other. Good was fresh and delicious. Chicken grilled very well and tempura choices were generous and tasty. Great value

My wife and I just relocated up to Castaic from LA and we love this place. The service if great , the atmosphere is nice. But the best is the sushi is just so fresh. I’m also a plumber and did do some work here. I was eating when the Chief said look on the board and call a plumber I laughed and said I’m right here. We were done eating I went to the shop and got my rig and returned. What I’m getting at is the back kitchen area is very clean.

We were on a road trip and were looking for a bathroom somewhere in this mall. This place does not have public bathrooms so since we really needed to use it, we decided to order something from here. I was really looking forward to this, but unfortunately, the fish was not fresh and did not have a lot of flavor. The hand roll was not a hand roll, it was more like a piece of seaweed with stuff dumped on top. This place is very understaffed as well, with only 1 waiter working the place. I don’t plan to come here again unless I am desperate for the bathroom.

They were out of longastino for their longastino roll so I went with the rainbow roll instead and my word, was this not the worst looking roll I have ever come across. I think I’ll stick to the other sushi spot up the road. They should also check their soda machine, the syrup mixture is off.

Matsu is one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve ever been too. I’ve never had a bad or stringy piece of fish and the service has always been great. Might not be the biggest pieces of fish, but the quality is always there. I highly recommend the Matsu Special Roll (It’s a hand roll).

We arrived near the end of the dinner rush, with just a few servers they still got us sat and got us served in a very reasonable time. Great good, friendly servers and Tesla supercharger in the parking lot, worked out great!
I also loved how they added crab to the cucumber salad, and just the right amount of seasoning.

Hidden in the town of Castaic coming off the Grapevine into the Valley is this Japanese gem. The staff welcome you in and do their best to give top notch service.
Get the sushi tower!!! The Sushi chef’s talent shines and you will LOVE it.
