We had the Mother’s day brunch set menu. Food was pretty good but some dishes were a lot better than others.

As an annual patron at Matisse since 2014 I have to say that the atmosphere and food have made no compromises in light of the pandemic. This is an excellent place to escape for a meal with family and friends. Staff and chefs are fantastic and deliver excellence.

Wonderful local restaurant. Outstanding menu, outstanding service. Perhaps a bit loud but that is forgivable when taking everything else into consideration.

Went to brunch here and it was a terrible experience. Heard from folks good place for dinner but no one had done brunch there. Service was poor and the food was worse. After basically taking our plates off the table that we all complained about our meals they did nothing and offered nothing to try and make it better. Was not very crowded so people may have know something we did not. Buyer beware of you come here

We went here for our anniversary and even listed that on the reservation. The food was good, but the service was all over the place. The beginning of our meal felt rushed and we were done with appetizers and entrees after 45-50 min. We were then presented the dessert menu and ordered. We did not end up receiving our dessert for another 40 minutes. Never were we told that there would be such a delay. If that had been the case because of a kitchen backup, we would have understood and chose not to have ordered a dessert. Instead we were stuck at our table with no one even stopping by to refill our drinks. We were left feeling like we had been forgotten – definitely not what you would want on a special night out.

A place adults can appreciate. Very good food. Attractive decor. Modest noise level.

Food was better than expected. Oysters were sublime, and the lamb was cooked to perfection. The sauce paired perfectly! Only word of caution is if its for a special occasion, I specified a birthday on the celebration – but there was nothing special out of the kitchen to that end

I’m baffled. The night I ate at Matisse, the chicken was not fully cooked, I tasted 1 bite; very bland, the vegetables greasy, they served fries, like I was eating at McDonalds. I ordered a white wine, and I later found out they gave me a lower label than I paid for. This is NOT French cooking. When I was in Nice, $7 got me the best coq au vin; this restaurant’s food is like a fast-cook diner. K. Steinhart
