It’s like getting drunk at your cool grandmas house! This is quite possibly the cutest comfiest bar that has ever existed. It’s decked out in funky 70’s style decor and filled with funny knick knacks and board/card games for entertainment. The seating is a good mixture of comfy couches and restaurant style tables and booths for whatever your vibe is. The staff are so friendly and funny you’ll want to be their best friends by the end of the night! The drinks are a fun combination of classic cocktails and fun novelty drinks on the sweet side of things that you get to pick from a “kids style” menu with coloring pages! Overall an entirely unique and perfect experience that I can’t think of a single way to improve upon.

Visiting Peoria from Chicago and had the absolute best experience here. Delicious drinks, wonderful atmosphere, and standout service. We came as a group of 5, the staff was incredibly friendly and gave us complimentary delicious Jell-O shots and offered to take a photo of our group. We accidentally knocked over and broke a glass and not only were they so friendly about it, but they replaced the nearly full drink free of charge. I cannot recommend this spot enough! Everything from the menus to the cozy couches and booths were carefully curated. Must check it out if you’re in town.

We decided to stop in spur of the moment last week and try out Matilda’s, and we were really glad we did. I think embracing the cozy feel works super well with the floorplan of the business (old 8-Bit so the multiple rooms of varying sizes). And the decor and music really enhance the vibes.
We tried a couple of the signature cocktails, both of which we really liked (particularly 1, ah ah, 2 ah ah). There were plenty of other choices that I’m sure we’ll go back and try as well.
We had some ranch chex mix, which was a great bar snack and really fits the ethos. We’re looking forward to getting some ruffles and french onion dip next time.

I finally got to go here yesterday — I have been wanting to since I first heard it opened. It was just incredible! The atmosphere is everything I have ever wanted from an experience going out with friends. The place is packed with nostalgic decor, board games, and excellent staff. I did not order any food this time, but the drinks were fabulous. I will definitely be returning many times.

New menu alert at Matilda’s! I love this little bar, super cute and everyone is so friendly. The prices are extremely reasonable, and I love their creativity with the cocktails. I usually hop between here and Nightjar next door! Both have a unique spin on the bar scene.

Best darn vodka Gilbert on the rocks my mom has ever had in her entire life and she passed away 2 years ago in the winter….. The owner is darn debonair and delightfully divine with a side of wine…. Also great godly gifted gorgeous. Not at all grotesque. If you want to have a great time and feel like you’re in the ’70s OR ’80s come back in time with us . Enjoy smile repeat we’ll see you soon.
