Matiki Island Barbecue is such a fun and memorable spot in Las Vegas! The ribs were incredibly plentiful, tender, and packed with flavor, and the teriyaki chicken plate was huge—honestly enough meat to enjoy for two days.
The staff was kind, welcoming, and genuinely entertaining, which made the experience even better. One of the coolest parts is watching them cook right in front of you behind a glass window—it adds to the whole island-style vibe and shows the care that goes into the food.
Great portions, great people, and a really cool atmosphere. We’ll absolutely be back!

The food is really good, but they are always out of the ribs every time I go. I usually go around 6-ish, but this time I came in around 1-ish and they were out again. It has happened three times now.
The other food is okay, but the beef ribs are the star. Customer service is not really good. The lady at the cash register was just plain rude and seemed like she was rushing people. Keep in mind, there weren’t that many people—I was the last one in line.
They did upgrade the restaurant and it looks nice. Other than that, the food is good.
Does anyone know any other places that sell good ribs? If so, let me know.

First time here saw this place on social media decided to try out while I was in Vegas. it looks much better on the Internet than it does in taste in person. The chicken was unbelievably hard, super dry, almost like a brick the steak was Doable wasn’t as dry but somewhat chewy. The rice is rice the mac was bland. This place is all hype due to portion size. I was watching the chefs prepare the meat and they cook it. Put it in a metal bucket to keep warm when you order your food. The dark McChicken was so dry. I couldn’t finish it. You can see it in the picture is how the texture just looks dry. That was a waste of about five dollars or six dollars worth of meat. They pull out that meat and they re-cook it again briefly and they dip it in sauce. I guess they think this will make it tender again, but is a big time fail, spent $20 on dry chicken and mightily decent steak to the Village pub for the $10.99 steak and egg special and still have money left over for dessert.

My husband and I enjoy Hawaiian food, so we sometimes go to new places that offer this style of cuisine. We usually find good options in Las Vegas, but this one, unfortunately, isn’t one of them. The first impression of the place isn’t good. The place is extremely small, with just around four-five small tables, disorganized and dirty. The table we sat at was broken and kept wobbly. Seriously? There were boxes everywhere and cleaning supplies in the most unexpected places. Terrible atmosphere. And if after all this the food had been good, the place would have gotten a pass, but it wasn’t. The chicken tasted like it had been cooked on a dirty grill, burn, tasteless, and tough. My husband ordered steak and was served ribs. He ended up eating his order even though it was incorrect, but the ribs were rubbery and didn’t taste good either. Probably the macaroni salad was the only thing that tasted actually good. Sorry but don’t recommend this place at all. It needs a lot of work. We might give it another chance in the future, but right now it’s not a good place to repeat.

WOW this place is phenomenal. I came to try the giant beef ribs, which as a plate for just $18 is a huge portion of caveman style ribs and super charcoal – grill flavored meat.
We tried a chicken/steak combo and it was absolutely amazing. One of the better steaks I’ve had, and yes it feels like you get a whole steak for $13, marinated to perfection.
Their Pani Popo dessert is a must try too. Hawaiian rolls soaked in a creamy coconut sauce, warm and delicious.
All in all huge affordable portions to satisfy your meat cravings.

Heard great things about this place. Unfortunately notsure why? My wife ordered a #3, and I had a #2. Starting with our sides, the steamed rice was very! Over cooked. It’s almost like it’s been held all day. The mac salad was very confusing. It had a very weird flavor and a grit lime texture. The #3 chicken was dry and tough. The #2 short ribs had good flavor, but we’re very o er cooked. They were dry.

Great potential, the quality and service can be hit or miss at times. Sometimes, they do not answer their phones, even when it’s not busy. They are often out of certain items on the menu, which usually is understandable but confusing when it’s chicken…? They are famous for their beef short ribs and full beef ribs which can be sold out too. Otherwise, I would come here if I knew the quality of food would be consistent.

Great place! Awesome vibe! Great staff. Great prices for the large portions they serve! Saw this place on TikTok and went straight here from the airport. Got the beef rib combo (my favorite) staff is friendly and when they are slow they will talk to you and get to know you. While you wait for your food there is a window to kitchen and you can watch them grill your food. Love the food so much I came back the next day before my flight home and got the kalbi plate and it was sooo good. Will come back everytime!

First time here. I saw a video review and o knew the shopping center, as I’ve eaten at other restaurants here. I initially didn’t notice this place as the switched locations in the complex.
I am a fan of Hawaiian food and the smells in the air were excellent.
What was surprising to me was, what I originally expected and what I received were miles apart.
What I was expecting was 1 or 2 beef ribs at most with 2 sides
What I received, was way above my expectations. There were 6 fullsize beef ribs, not skimpy at all. Perfectly grilled with the flavor of Kalbi ribs. Served with 2 sides, my choice of white rice and macaroni salad. The Mac salad was sweet and flavorful. Rice was perfect. The problem was I did not want to miss out on even a morsel if the ribs. I barely ate half the sides, choosing to eat every single bite of the ribs. This plate could have easily fed 2 but I pigged out.
The man behind the counter was very knowledgeable and professionally. Good came out in a timely manner. I would recommend calling ahead as I could see this place getting very busy.
I cannot wait to go back and try all the menu.
I highly recommend this place
