I’m 5 months pregnant and was craving some good gringo tacos. I googled places and this place popped up. I’m so glad it did. We drove 45 minutes to get there and it was worth every minute. The tacos were amazing, all the appetizers we had were delicious and the smores pizza dessert was literal perfection. The only suggestion I have is that the food came out with extra plates. The plates themselves are a little small (not the food. The food has exceptional serving sizes, but a little too big for the plate.) Our server was also amazing. I think her name was Kara. She was super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I also really liked the ambiance. As a self proclaimed hipster, I highly enjoy darker settings and it was perfect for my love for the dive bar feel. (Definitely not a dive bar though) After we left we stumbled across some live music next door…..is East Hampton back?

I am pleasantly delighted with Mateo’s Taco & Cantina! The food was absolutely delicious, one of the best burritos I have ever had!
It was a bit expensive but everything is these days.

I love this place but the Mexican dishes ONLY. Not the pizza.

I got a quesadilla and it tasted not so good.
hate to say it but the rice was raw and the atmosphere smelled like wet baby diapers and I was the only one there the lighting was very dim and was hard to see and the food was cold . I wasn’t so happy about this but we never got an appetizer! Thank you

Although the restaurant is a bit outdated, don’t let that get in the way of experiencing Matteo’s most FLAVORFUL and WE’LL SEASONED meat, veggies, and queso. Everyone is super nice, like your their very own aunt or uncle. And I mean it, the food is outstanding. Well portioned and priced and travels great for take out. I can’t say it enough, the flavors and the seasonings are THE BEST IN TOWN. yes, the absolute best Mexican in town. Don’t miss out.

Fantastic restaurant in the Village Center of East Hampton. Great drinks and great food. Very close to the Airline Trail, so a perfect location for a quick break from a bike ride. Highly recommend! What a great addition to the East Hampton Village Center!

Food came out super fast & was delicious. Nachos light & not greasy at all, would prefer them warmed & will ask for that next time. Ingredients fresh & well prepared. They had items without lime that I’m allergic to & have almost given up eating at Mexican restaurants. Great place for quick bit or drink & go for walk at Airline Trail that starts in adjacent parking lot.

We always love it here. The birria tacos and chicken tinga tacos are my favorites. They also have regular happy hour specials. The staff is friendly and, if you happen to be in the mood after eats & drinks, the building abuts the rail trail where you could go for a walk of any length you desire.

We stopped here on a whim after riding the airline trail. Great food and service, many gluten free and vegetarian options. We all had something different and all was very good. Jaelyn was our server and she was attentive and friendly! We will definitely be back.
