Social Profile:

From the sweetest Maine blueberries, yes those little wild ones that make the best pie fillings, to maple syrup tapped during Springtime by the families who’ve been doing it for multiple generations in Vermont. The sustainable bee keepers in New Hampshire producing honey and of course seasonal fruits across Massachusetts orchards, we’re excited to showcase the best of New England paired with high quality, shade grown matcha tea imported from Japan.

Growing up in the North End and watching the neighborhood transform has been a wild experience. Some changes feel strange while others arrive with the perfect kind of charm. Matcha Loves Boba is one of the special ones. Sitting right on Hanover Street, it fits the rhythm of the neighborhood with ease and adds something fresh and uplifting.

Our family loves both matcha and boba so finding a place that celebrates the two together felt like a gift. This review is a little overdue. We actually visited only a few days after they opened and the whole team made us feel right at home. The staff were polite, warm, and incredibly generous with their time. They talked us through the menu, the flavors, and the creative combinations they were excited to offer. Their energy was sincere and inviting which is something you cannot manufacture.

We ordered the blueberry matcha and it was genuinely delightful. Rich, vibrant, perfectly blended, and full of character. It had that smooth calm flavor of good matcha with the brightness of blueberry folded in. Every sip felt intentional and balanced.

Matcha Loves Boba brings a beautiful spirit to the North End. Thoughtful drinks, kind people, and a space that feels like it belongs. We will absolutely be returning.

The food is delicious! Super cute spot to enjoy a well portioned taco! The bowl is so filling and like the choices I have in creating my own bowl. My favorites were the: fried fish and chorizo! Overall, food is tasty. I highly recommend this and would definitely return to visit every time I am in the North End!

I got the premium watermelon matcha latte, one of the seasonal drinks, and it really hit the spot in the hot weather! The watermelon really shined through. Nice touch in the space with the simple syrup bottle if you wanted, though my drink didn’t need it.

I love what they’re doing with their menu – lots of interesting combinations with matcha (ube sweet corn is next on my to try list)

Tacos were delicious! My favorite was the fried fish tacos. The habanero sauce has a very nice kick to it. Also loved the salsa verde. I recommend trying the fish tacos with the squid ink tortilla. Must stop by if youre in the northend! Hoping to try the bowl next time 🙂

Delicious, affordable tacos! Their seafood ones are my favorite. Love the grilled fish and the fried fish. They’re small, but really tasty. I also really liked their loaded bowls and will definitely be getting one again. Their corn elote is the best! Excited that their brick and mortar is now open in the North End!

Fish Taco is a pop-up by Love Art, located inside Cloud & Spirits. For $5, you can get three tacos and a side. You must place an order online and pick up on the specified day and time of your order. The time slots do sell out but not immediately.

My box came with crispy mahi mahi, slow braised barbacoa, and pulled chicken tacos and a side of corn elote. The box was prepared on pick-up and took about five minutes. They provide sauces, spices, and utensils. The process was smooth.

I liked the braised barbacoa the most. It was flavorful but could have been more tender. The mahi mahi was my second favorite. The inside was soft, and the outside had a small bite (I would have preferred it crispier, though). I rank the pulled chicken third, but it was not bad at all. The corn elote was on the sweeter side but also not bad.

Overall, these weren’t the best tacos I’ve ever had, but relative to the price, they were very satisfying, and the protein portions were generous. I plan on getting more!

Having a solid taco spot in the North end is a treat and this spot has good deals! If you get a bowl, I highly recommend the elote corn as add on, it’s delicious! They don’t add sauce to the tacos so you get to pick the sauces that you want. The calamari taco was a pleasant surprise.
