I had no idea that there was an establishment in the DMV that specialized in all things matcha.
There were so many options to choose from cakes to ice cream. Even though I really wanted to try everything, I decided to try the matcha float with matcha ice cream on top.
Not only was the drink gorgeous, it was super tasty too.
Next time I visit, I will be definitely try their banana pudding match drink.

My first matcha ice cream store that I tried here in US ever. This store is decorated with cute little wooden art by the customer. You can purchase a wood piece to draw on it and then hang it on the wall. My favorite here was always be the matcha and vanilla flavor swirl cone! Price is not too bad for the amount of ice cream on it. It has the perfect about of matcha, not too bitter and the ice cream is not too sweet.
I usually come here during regular day as weekend could be pretty busy!

I was in VA visiting some friends and came across this cafe in Centreville. Their matcha quality is top notch! I tried the Maiko special which is a soft serve parfait with a variety of toppings and it was so good! I even bought 5 bags of the matcha powder to take back with me, and they were nice enough to give me a discount. I will definitely come back if I’m ever in the area again!

8/9/25 – Cute spot. I really love matcha and was super excited to try something here. The decor is so cute. You can add to the wall but have to purchase the item. When I went to order I didn’t really get a nice customer service feeling. Kind of just looked at me until I said I would like this. Thankfully I looked up before and knew what I wanted. I got the Banana puddling matcha latte. It was super good and came out quick after ordering. I wish we had something like this where I live. Would have loved to try other things, maybe another time if I ever am in the area.

This is by far the best matcha spot I’ve been to in this area. Their soft serve is just as good. The banana pudding matcha is also something I recommend

I recently had the opportunity to try the soft-serve Matcha ice cream at another location. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to visit the Centerville location when I learned it was available there. Upon entering, I was greeted by a clean and inviting atmosphere, beautifully adorned with Japanese decor and wooden cards featuring messages reminiscent of those found at temples in Tokyo. The service was straightforward: I selected my order, processed my payment, and waited for the staff to bring the ice cream once it was prepared.
I opted for the Maiko Special Mixed flavors, featuring Green Tea and Vanilla ice cream, which were refreshing and pleasant. However, I did find that the matcha flavor was milder than I had anticipated. Additionally, I noticed some typefaces used on the menu board were challenging to read, such as Times New Roman and Sans Serif light typefaces, which are thin and disappear to the white background, which creates less readability. Overall, it was a delightful experience with room for some improvements.

When you crave Matcha soft serve, this is one of the places to go to! The menu options can be overwhelming and probably easier to browse their online menu.
Soft serve is good and you can do half and half (twist) so I opted for ube/Matcha shaved ice. Not a fan of all the chewy mochi this time, but overall everything mixed well.
Nice, clean shop with only one lady working the counter. She was very efficient though and handled everything (taking order – – > making order) and go everything right.
You can have buy empty wood plates for $2 to write on and hang your message on thier for wall too, just for fun.

Service was terrible and horrible can’t believe that she’s doing customer service job. Also, I can’t believe that I paid $8 for the ice cream, which empty inside (u see that hole, and also not filled the cup

We’ve been coming to Matcha Maiko for years now and we’re always gotten their soft serve or floats which are ALWAYS excellent. They’ve recently gone viral with their new banana pudding float and we knew we had to try it. Looks wise, the banana pudding is aesthetically beautiful. Taste wise, it was just okay! It wasn’t the best banana pudding I’ve ever had but it was definitely yummy. It’s so nice to see them branching out and making new fun deserts and I hope this encourages them to create more!
