I finally tried this new cafe tucked behind Panda East. Early OCT but 86 degrees so I got the mango smoothie. So good, not too sweet, obviously a fresh mango as the main ingredient. A cozy, friendly atmosphere. If it were cooler I would try one of the amazing sounding chai drinks. Great outdoor space too. What a pleasant surprise! Update late OCT, 50, rainy. I got the saffron tea, maple scone and “deluxe date.” This place is so yummy.

Very nice place to eat, drink coffee/tea, and hang out. The lighting and decor build a warm atmosphere, and the food is tasty (if a bit pricey). Amherst needed a cozy cafe downtown and Masuda’s fills that niche well.

Beautiful space, delicious food! We had the South Asian sampler and Avocado toast. The sampler had 4 large pieces of flatbread and 3 beef patties with yogurt along with a generous salad. Incredibly good together! The avocado toast was excellent- bread was really tasty. Pistachio cardamom latte and saffron tea were also really good. Unique breakfast – with a great vibe. We will be back!

First visit and it didn’t disappoint. We had spicy tomato with egg, carrot cake, and classic North American breakfast. The food was delicious, and the spice level was perfect as well. The atmosphere and the staff were super friendly. Definitely worth the visit and highly recommended.

Amazing food and service! I’ve grown up eating a lot of boulani (fried tortilla-like dish with potatoes and leaks inside) but Masuda’s were some of the best I’ve had. Everything was incredibly seasoned (especially the meat ) and the vegetables in the salad were so fresh!

And the atmosphere was cool too, with beautiful wallpaper, plants, paintings, and both outdoor and indoor seating.

Masuda’s Cafe is so good I immediately came back the next day. What an exceptional oasis! On the first visit, afternoon, chance brought me there – a friend’s tip off, pure serendipity. I had a hot coffee, bold (Rao’s Coffee Roasting Company “The Godfather”) and a slice of carrot cake. I sat in comfort, reading, in this spacious, quiet place. When I asked for a coffee refill, I found it was free!

The next morning, returning, I entered by the “Breakfast & Lunch” door. My goal was the Spicy Tomato Poached Eggs / Tohkm Ban-Jahn Roo-Mee. It was delicious: two large eggs poached in a savory blend of fresh tomatoes, green onions and chilies, served with two slices of toast. For the toast, I chose white baguette slices.

To extend this enjoyment, I relaxed with a cup of hot coffee (the cups are large!) and a luxury date dipped in Belgium chocolate – stuffed with almonds. Added to that I had “Camel Eyes” (three pieces). Scrumptious! Again, I enjoyed reading (and looking at the food photos I had snapped to include with this post).

Service (Sarah, at the breakfast) was attentive, unubtrusive, helpful and quiet – much appreciated. And parking was close by – very handy. I highly recommend a visit to Masuda’s Cafe, which only recently opened in June of 2025.

I spent some time at Masuda’s cafe while I did some work. It was such a relaxing atmosphere and the customer service was great! It’s refreshing to know and see that the owner is still active and involved in her business, even though they are fully staffed with great employees. Most importantly, I had a hot chai tea that was delicious. Now that the cooler days are approaching, I plan to have more teas (and study sessions there).

We had a lovely breakfast here today. North American breakfast, cardamom French toast, and a pistachio cardamom latte. Everything was wonderful, as was the service.
