First time dining at the Irvine location since they opened last year. Met my girlfriends here for dinner and overall had a wonderful experience. Michael was our server and he was attentive, friendly, and kept the pacing smooth all night. We were never rushed, never forgotten. We started with the bone marrow, chopped salad, and the burrata with heirloom tomato and fig, which were all well executed and great for sharing. For mains, my gf ordered filet mignon, and I went with the Mastro’s House Salad, adding ahi tuna for protein still one of my favorites, especially with the signature black tiger shrimp that makes it feel indulgent but balanced. Cocktails were good, and as expected, the wine list is deep and well curated. The atmosphere is polished, still busy even on a tuesday night. That said, while this Irvine outpost is a strong addition, I still personally prefer the Newport Coast location it just has that extra something when it comes to ambiance. Still, a dependable choice for a group dinner, special occasion, or when you’re craving classic Mastro’s done right.

2 stars for Service Recovery tendered by Sergio who promptly handled our complaint with professionalism and quick wit. Otherwise I would give a Zero Star if it’s available for selection. We made reservation online which only provided outdoor seating. Howevet, we did made a remark in the system requesting for indoor seating if it’s possible. Upon arrival, we checked in with the front desk blonde lady again requested for indoor seating if it’s possible. The blonde lady worked on 20 Feb 2026 evening made no efforts on our request thus seated us at outdoor area with cold draft flowing thru the side blinds and under a malfunction heater. After we sat there for 20 mins before being served, i was freezing, still wearing my Canada Goose jacket. Hubby went to speak to Wine Director Tyler. Tyler insisted that he heater is definitely working fine hence it is of no issue. Hubby pointed out the heater lights were completed switched off, heating rods were dark there is definitely NO heating under that table !
I made another feedback to Sergio, who was swift in his actions after hearing us out. Sergio shifted us to a booth seat and made efforts to check on us regularly. Sergio did a nice service recovery giving us complimentary desserts platter. Tyler has integrity issues, why would your staff Tyler lie straight without battering an eyelid to a guest who had inforned you on the situation? Tyler did not even bother to check at the physical premise where the guests were sitting, simply brushed us off. He did not served with any efforts, nil sincerity with just pack of lies and poker face smiles all the time. This staff of yours has integrity issues and no heart to serve your guests at all ! The senior management ought to re-look into staff quality and it’s hiring.
Our female server for the night was lacking in service, in fact she didnt paid much attention to our table at all. Overall both the breads amd the lobster mashed potatoes were salty.
As a valued guest of Mastro, we were impressed with Beverly Hills store hence visited Irvine. Our last visit at South Coast location ended up with unpleasantness as well. When you charged a premium for the foods served, we expect decent service and nothing less than the price we paid for !

Mastro Ocean Club grand opening in Irvine Spectrum location 9/26/25. We love Mastro and always go to the Newport Beach Location. Love their chocolate martini. Grand opening night at this location was very lively. Got to meet the GM Sabrina at this location, Jay the corporate trainer, Phil the GM at Scottsdale location, Nathan the manager at Irvine location, our waiter was phenomenal. All staffs were nice and attentive. Love the Wagyu that I had as well as the ribeye my hubby had. Seafood tower was fresh. Mastro still my fav steakhouse of all time. We made rsvp so no wait. Plenty of free parking in parking garage, parking lot. Also valet available. Totally recommended.

I loved the food and the service. I had the Japanese A5 Wagyu and it melted in my mouth like butter! So delicious! I also enjoyed the wine selection and the deserts. We had a really good time there.

We sat at the bar for Valentine’s date night and Ari (I think that’s her name) and Nick took great care of us. They were very busy but handled it well. They guided us in our menu choices and were very hospitable and warm. They also had live music that was the perfect volume and good variety and the decor was beautiful, you forget you’re at the spectrum. We are not strangers to Mastros, we even celebrated our engagement there a while back at a different location, but the food here was overall okay but not stellar, the sushi roll was very good but the ribeye was a bit bland. A bit more salt and pepper and butter in the kitchen would probably go a long way. The tallow fries were just your run-of-the-mill average fries, very plain tasting and looking, almost like from the frozen section. We took a buttercake home that did not disappoint. I appreciated all the accoutrements and instructions packed with it. All in all, we had a great time but the main course did not slap like I expected it to.

We came to Mastro’s for our small firm’s (20 people) Christmas luncheon. We were very excited to see this Mastro’s open so we’re located very nearby. The service was outstanding. I feel like I can’t say enough good things about our waitresses, Carrie and I believe the other was Rachel. These ladies were so stellar, friendly, patient, warm. 10/10 for service experience. The food left something to be desired. I didn’t even eat the creamed corn. I took one bit and decided it was absolutely not worth the calories. Everything else was OK. Not up to Mastro’s standards, in my opinion. The sentiment was the same across our group of 20. They had recently opened, so we will give them another try and attribute this outing to “working out the kinks”.

The most phenomenal dining and culinary experience I have ever had. From the start we received attention when we needed it and all the staff introduced them selfs. The waitress had so much knowledge on each menue item it was unbelievable and even helped us create an excellent multi course meal. The live music was nice and did not overpower conversation at all. As weird as it sounds, the airflow was nice. They had good ventilation, so even though we were indoors, the air was fresh. The food was all cooked perfectly and presented so nicely. The dips for the shrimp cocktail and calamari blended so well with the food. The entire steak was full of flavor and melted in your mouth.
Summary: Go.. you will not be disappointed.

Mastro’s in Irvine Spectrum is a great spot for a night out. The bar area has an amazing vibe, lively, classy, and perfect for drinks or bites. The only downside is that the chairs are set so close together that you can’t help but bump elbows or brush against the person next to you. Despite that, the staff were all very friendly and attentive, making the overall experience enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

Mastro’s Ocean Club delivered a true 5-star experience from start to finish. The food, the atmosphere, and the overall level of service were exactly what you expect from Mastro’s—exceptional.
That said, what really set this visit apart was our server, Dylan. We’ve been to many Mastro’s locations over the years, and without question, Dylan was the best server we’ve ever had. Attentive without hovering, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely warm—he elevated the entire evening. Every recommendation was spot-on, timing was perfect, and we felt truly taken care of.
If you’re visiting Mastro’s Ocean Club, ask for Dylan. He turned an already great meal into an unforgettable experience. We’ll absolutely be back.
