Honestly, I was surprised by their low reviews and ratings because my experience has been great! I’ve eaten here twice and never had any issues. They offer daily specials and great Taco Tuesday deals for both street tacos and hard shell tacos. The prices are affordable, and everything I’ve tried has been on point — from the chicken roll tacos and cheese quesadilla to the carne asada street tacos, potato hard shell taco, and the consommé. The salsa bar is decent, the place is clean, and the service is always friendly and efficient. There’s a good amount of seating, but it can get busy on Taco Tuesday — worth the wait though!

Decided to try Master Tacos out as I was not pleased with the other local taco shops nearby. What a lovely hidden gem! It is tucked away in a quiet plaza and has a no frill, but CLEAN vibe inside. We went on a Friday evening around 6 PM and there were many other patrons dining inside and ordering for takeout.
I stuck with my classic, some version of an Arizona burrito. Hubby got the Carne Asada burrito. Both burritos were quite large and stuffed with plenty of tasty morsels. The food tasted fresh and there was nearly zero grease and literally zero weird textured gristley pieces of meat. The guacamole was bright green and not oxidized or loaded to water it down.
They also had a small salsa bar to pack your goodies to go.
Prices are comparable to the other taco shops that are well known, all of which unfortunately have gone up considerably in price over the years.
Overall, this will be my new go to spot for a hearty Arizona burrito. I look forward to trying the birrio tacos and ramen!

Delicious and the portions are huge! Always on my list when I’m in town! Surfing Bowl is my favorite. There are shrimp and carne asada under all that cheese and chipolte deliciousness!

Their Taco Salad is to die for!! So much I could not finish it. The flour tortilla was nice dr and crispy and filled to the brim with meat, guacamole, cheese, and pico. I definitely recommend!

We’d seen it couple times and good google reviews, we finally tried it. The carne asada burrito was huge and decent. The Birria tacos not really what was expected having had Birria many other places. The sides of rice and beans not worth it. Was surprised they came out in little containers like you would get sauce in from other places. The place was clean just a small place. What really ruined it was when the food was brought out. Didn’t ask who was who’s. Before I could even acknowledge she was there and get thank you out the food was plopped on the table and the girl was gone. We’re obviously not regulars don’t know if that’s the issue. 2 ladies sitting behind us she brought their food out and smiled and asked which one got what and sat it down nicely on their table unlike ours. It didn’t make sense we aren’t picky or anything other than no guacamole. Would I go back most likely not. Why pay +tip for someone to be rude(unless we went to a specialty restaurant for that)just because we ordered food and for whatever reason we weren’t liked apparently. If for the food and cleanliness then yes probably would go back occasionally. But for the service we personally won’t be back.

While MasterTaco does have good food, it’s disappointing.
The quesabirria is not birria at all. It’s more like a lightly seasoned shredded beef taco with some type of broth. I would definitely not consider these birria and their menu add is deceiving since the food itself lacks the color/look of the picture. Plus there was the end of the onion that should’ve been trash. The sides were 2$ for a tiny condiment container that I’m surprised held up with the heat of the food. (The integrity of the cup was questionable.) Not to mention the girl taking orders had a major attitude. (She practically dropped the food on the table.) Unless you were a regular then you were greeted friendly instead of a glare. Like I said the food wasn’t terrible just not as expected. I might give it another chance. But I don’t see myself going back in the near future, and definitely wouldn’t recommend.
(Would give zero stars for service but that’s thats not an option. Cause if looks could kill yikes. Should have already been a red flag.)

Cashier has a beautiful smile and is very kind. Restaurant is clean, and good lighting. Went on Taco Tuesday – street tacos are $2.25 per taco. So tasty! Will be visiting here again!!

I had a great experience, the order taker Gerardo P. Was patient with me making my choice. Take your time, no pressure. He was friendly and made me feel welcome. Spent $35 on two meals should have bought one and split it it was a lot of food. Nice place. 5 stars.
