What a surprising and delightful stop on Route 1! The simple, minimalistic sign caught my eye, so I decided to pop in—and I’m so glad I did. This place offers the authentic, rustic loaves I’ve been craving!
Massimo was such a pleasure to talk to, sharing his passion for good food with every word. He even offered me a warm slice of bread with olive oil and black garlic salt—a perfect touch! The sandwiches are delicious, and though I haven’t tried the pasta yet, he mentioned that he hosts his guests around the table, cooking pasta right in front of them. I can’t wait to return and experience it!
Massimo’s pride in his work shines through, especially in his classic chef’s uniform, which adds to the charm of this spot. If you love quality food made with heart, this is a must-visit.

I absolutely love this market! Massimo is so welcoming and attentive to all who visit and typically gives us a snack on the house to share how delicious a product is which always gets us to buy more 😉 The breads and wine cookies are my favorite, as his Massimo’s homemade pasta sauce! Pair it with some of the pasta and olive oil sold onsite and you’ll be thankful and have a full belly!

Probably one of the friendliest places I’ve ever been. We got our paninis instantly, they were super fresh and amazing, samples of bread with olive oil, and a delicious dessert. Absolutely stop here for amazing fresh food and bread.
Pictured are the croissants and bread we took home for breakfast tomorrow. So good.

1st time visitor – I’m a local who has passed by many times and always wanted to stop in. Today it was open, so I checked it out.
Super friendly staff was very attentive. I knew I wanted a pannini but also wanted to check out what else they had.
Wines, sauces, oils, flavored salts, drinks and of course, fresh baked goods.
Tried a sample of the rustic bread and oil – delicious!
Will definitely return and cannot wait for the actual railroad car restaurant to open.

I know it’s out of the way. We showed up on opening day. This place is 3 hours from my house and I will honestly drive back. I’m not a huge fan of sausages but they changed my mind. You can get icecream here too. Located near state parks.

The sandwiches are really good, even cold. I love the jalapeños on the Antonio. The mini ciabatta rolls are perfect for breakfast sandwiches. Anise cookies are soft and cake-like, just sweet enough, and not overpowering of anise.
The two women in the shop were very friendly and helpful, and offered samples of bread.
I’ll definitely come back and try everything!

The owner is really nice and offered a lot of new things to try. The bread is amazing. It’s rare to find an authentic Italian spot which is not American Italian. Lovely space and lovely people. Looking forward to trying the restaurant when it opens.

An amazing experience! We were very warmly welcomed and then blown away by the outstanding customer service and quality of everything we tried. I could go on all day about it, but we are about to use these fantastic ingredients to make a most excellent dinner with some wine. All things you can find at Massimo’s!
