Good food but not as good as I was expecting. We had the meatballs and roasted cauliflower. Both were okay but the meatballs came out about 2 minutes after I ordered them…they were sort of hot on the outside but not hot on the inside. My main dish looked amazing, great presentation. But it was chicken Marsala, a personal favorite but it fell way short of flavor. It was like someone put dye in the water and that was the sauce. Looked good but disappointing unfortunately. Service was great.

Massimo in Walnut Creek is the epitome of upscale Italian dining—a culinary haven where every detail is meticulously curated to elevate your dining experience to new heights. I had the pleasure of treating my significant other to a Valentine’s Day dinner at this exquisite establishment, and I must say, it was an evening to remember.

From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were enveloped in an ambiance of sophistication and romance. The warm lighting, elegant decor, and soft strains of Italian music set the stage for a truly memorable evening.

The staff at Massimo are true professionals, well-versed in the art of hospitality. From the moment we were seated, we were attended to with the utmost care and attention, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience exceeded expectations.

And then there’s the food—oh, the food. Each dish at Massimo is a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors that dance across the palate and leave you craving more. From delicate antipasti to sumptuous pasta dishes and decadent desserts, every bite is a revelation, a testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs.

But perhaps what truly sets Massimo apart is the way they make you feel—special, cherished, and utterly pampered. It’s more than just a meal; it’s an experience—a celebration of love, good food, and the joy of being together.

So, if you’re looking to impress that special someone or simply indulge in a memorable dining experience, look no further than Massimo in Walnut Creek. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Came here for a rehearsal dinner and the staff were simply incredible! The waitstaff were sure to move quickly from table to table as people arrived getting drink orders and checking in on us to be sure we were having a great evening. The food was a set menu but the chicken I had was phenomenal! If I find myself back in the area I could easily stop back in for dinner one evening. Very nice atmosphere, dim lights, a little on the classier side with a pianist entertaining diners later in the evening.

Italian restaurant located amongst a line of restaurants in Walnut Creek. There’s paid street parking and garage parking nearby. With both indoor and outdoor seating, they do have heaters outside but we easily made a reservation via opentable in advance and opted to sit indoor. We were greeted by our very kind server and she helped us decide what to order because we wanted some appetizers. We ordered calamari, grilled octopus, and the golden beet salad which had a lot of burrata. Then we opted for the special gnocci and sausage for the main. You can get bread, oil and vinegar upon request. I asked what wine paired well with our choices and she recommended a red. For dessert we got the tiramisu and when I made the reservation I stared it was my friends birthday and we got an ice cream for it, we opted for vanilla. We devoured our meal and was big enough for 2 of us. They have a bathroom located in the back, a bar area with TVs if you’re trying to watch sports and all of the staff are super friendly!

We had such a great time at Massimio’s! Our party of 7 was well taken care of by our friendly waiter, who really went out of his way to accommodate our vegetarian dietary needs. He gave us some awesome recommendations, and everything he suggested was spot on!

The portobello and veggie sandwiches were super tasty, and the pasta was delicious too. The cheese charcuterie, with honey and fruit jam, was such a nice touch. But honestly, the star of the meal was the butternut squash soup—easily the highlight of the day! We’ll definitely be coming back!

The food is exquisite. It can be tough to find an Italian joint in California where they really know how to make Italian food the right way, and this is that. It’s pretty fancy by Walnut Creek standards, too. If you’re looking for a place to take your date and impress her, this could be exactly what you need.

The reason I don’t give five stars is because prices are higher than they need to be and the wait staff is haughty. My wife is a non-native English speaker who didn’t grow up eating Italian food, and when she asked our waitress to explain some of the items on the menu that used unfamiliar terms, the waitress smirked at the first question and rolled her eyes at the second. That kind of attitude’s just not something we need in our lives. Especially not from someone whom I’m about to give a big double digit tip.

My church has members who use them for catering, granted these catered affairs are funeral receptions, not the best of circumstances, but there’ve been a couple of other non-funeral events.
It’s good that our church has warmer ovens because sometimes we have events that take a while. They are great as you get serving implements and everything comes in warm They recommend 180° not 200° The food they give us is really good, lot of variations. I don’t think we’ve had the same thing more than twice. Good salads and cold sandwiches too
A lot of variety is available
Anyway, this is just to review on the catering, as we’ve never been to the restaurant at least not yet.

Let me first off by saying I do not recommend this restaurant. I was really excited to try this restaurant as we walked by, but was quickly mistaken. It took forever for the food to come out when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. When the food did come out, it did not taste fresh or prepared the same day. Everything either lacked complete flavor and was old or tasted stale. We were very disappointed and did not finish our meals. Even after bringing it to the managers attention, who was very kind and understanding, I figured we would give them another chance. Unfortunately a few hours later I experienced food poisoning and due to that being the only thing I ate, that was the culprit. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately this will not be a place I would recommend or go back to.

On a sunny day sitting on the outside patio by the street, my friends and I had wonderful starters! All of them tasted wonderful. The bruschetta was the best. The entrees are quite large and shareable. I couldn’t finish my eggplant parmesan but it tasted good.

Food was very good with a couple of exceptions, the salads are lacking flavor. Garlic bread app and sea bass entree, very good. Service was pretty bad, disappearing server (Ronaldo), and he had an attitude. I’d go back for the food but would want a different server.
