I dropped in after a quick review online and grabbed 2 slices and soda. I returned a few hours later and grabbed a whole pizza. Delicious and fresh. The prices are reasonable. The staff were engaging and friendly. The restaurant was clean and organized. The menu was vast, I will definitely return to try other items.

I am not sure how to begin even the place is an absolute insanely great space if u need space from others yet a clam peaceful environment i have multiple personality disorder i have issues i have now been here 3 times and I have always felt welcomed and cared for here its a family owned place from a son who had a dream to have his own pizza place and he had zero experience at first but I have seen him tossing pizza better then domino’s and pizza hut combined and im legally blind 75% he is the most caring owner to a restaurant i have ever met same with the lady who works there yes the food takes about 15 min to make but it is absolutely worth the wait eat it fresh for absolutely best flavor I have tried 3 different ones from the white pizza to buffalo chicken pizza and love them all I literally have no complaints better yet they even have wheelchair accessibility bathrooms in rear of the place so I genuinely don’t think u can get better they got a cool system to where u can even pick out your drink from a cooler for a single fee and I genuinely like that ad it helps with my issues mentally dont understanding to well so I can pay and grab whatever I please and it isnt complicated like a machine some hate it while it genuinely is better in my opinion its clean 24 7 they have insane security so im sure your safe here also I would gladly recommend you come here vs anywhere else for pizza if your here in Smithfield or clayton range COME HERE NOT DOMINOS ITS SAME PRICE AND WAY BETTER IF NOT CHEAPER

Called on Massimo Pizza for the catering of my Board of Directors. There are several amazing catering options at our locally owned and operated restaurants in Historic Downtown Smithfield, NC. The office had an incredible lunch from Massimo Pizza. The Grilled Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was out of this world and would highly recommend! The garlic knots are addictive beware!!!

Meat lovers pizza was great. Ordered a salad and wasn’t told until after pizza was brought out that they were out of salad stuff. Talked with the owner and found out that they are a new business. Only been here a month. Cashier was also new and couldn’t answer questions about toppings or pricing. The employees were hustling preparing the food.
We will definitely give them another try. Many customers here tonight also said their meals were delicious.

Massimo Pizza is in the location that was where Sami’s Pizza was located in Downtown Smithfield. The new ownership has kept the Sami’s recipes but added some Mediterranean items, gyros, a Mediterranean plate, Greek Salad, Greek pizza and baklava.
I had planned to order some slices to try some different pizza varieties, but there was just one or two pizzas in the case, so I ended up ordering a small white pizza.
The employee who took my order was very friendly and polite. I was confused about the beverage I ordered, as I am used to fountain drinks and iced tea options. So the only choices here were Pepsi products with a limited selection or bottled water.
The restaurant has some tables and a bar that wasn’t being used. The front of the kitchen is open to the dining area, so you could watch them toss the dough.
Most were getting orders to go, but there seemed to be some mishaps: orders not ready when customers arrived, or orders not found. From what I picked up, it seemed the slips were falling on the floor rather than being put up with the orders to make.
When my pizza arrived, I was surprised that it was served with a hole in it. It looked like someone took a bite of it. I’ve not been served a pizza in that condition before. I’m not sure if it was caused by a finger or just bad cutting. Whatever the reason was, was bad quality control.
The pizza tasted fine, and the crust was good. It just seems by now that the kinks should have been worked out, and these mishaps should not be happening. It is sad that the kitchen is rushing the pizza cutting, being careless, and not caring about the presentation. It makes me wonder what else is happening that I can’t see. I wouldn’t order from here again.

I feel confident in saying this is probably the best pizza in the area, and definitely the best pizza we have had since we moved here. The guys were very nice and working hard to get the pizzas out. The white pizza is excellent, and my extremely picky kids loved the cheese. The garlic knots here were the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely be coming back.

Literally my favorite place to grab a slice in Smithfield NC! Massimo’s does pizza right from sauce to cheese and perfect dough crisp. I even had the calzone the sauce was so good I wanted to dip a calzone pocket made to perfection in, and taste was on point. Come here enjoy one of my favorite spots.

Ordered two pizzas. Large meatball and a small buffalo chicken.
The pizzas tasted fresh, not overly salted. All the ingredients seemed home made vs Sysco Systems.
The crust was perfectly crunchy outside and chewy inside. Best pizza I’ve tasted in NC so far.
