We always come here for the pizza, and it has truly become our family spot. Our kids absolutely love the food, and pizza is always our number one choice here! The atmosphere is great — you can tell it’s a popular place because it’s usually busy, which says a lot about the quality. The food is consistently delicious, the ice cream is amazing, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. We’re always happy to come back!

We stopped by Massa Café Italiano in Elmwood Park on a Saturday afternoon, and it was every bit as good as I remembered from years ago. I used to go to their old location on Roosevelt and Halsted back when I was in college, and I loved their Primo sandwich back then — so of course, I had to order it again.

It did not disappoint. The Primo was absolutely delicious — that basil pesto mayo is incredible, and it’s exactly how I remembered it. Creamy, flavorful, and the perfect touch to the sandwich. I paired it with their soup, which was rich and comforting — you could really taste the heavy cream in it, which made it even better.

My grandmother went all out and got both the Italian sausage pizza and the pepperoni pizza, and she loved them. My mom ordered the eggplant parmesan and couldn’t stop talking about how thin and flavorful the eggplant was — she said it was one of the best she’s had. My daughter had the cheese pizza, which she really enjoyed, and my sister went with the choose two option.

My sister actually comes here at least once a month and is always raving about how consistently good everything is. After this visit, I completely understand why.

We all ended the meal with gelato, and everyone loved it. I didn’t get a picture, but the coconut gelato was especially amazing — creamy, refreshing, and full of flavor.

Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a really nice family afternoon. Great food, warm atmosphere, and a lot of nostalgia. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon.

Honestly, this is the best pizza I’ve tried in USA so far! Very fresh ingredients and HIGH quality!!! I’ve ordered the prosciutto & arugula, nice try, but next time I will order something with tomato sauce wondering it is fresh as well (pretty sure it will be). For desert, DO NOT MISS the gelato, best I’ve tried WORLDWIDE, this is the true gelato. It’s sad that I don’t live in

Did the choose 2 with the skirt steak panini and lentils soup, and added a small gelato. The bun was buttered and pressed perfectly, the steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The produce on the sandwich was fresh with a crunch to every bite. The soup was full of flavor and it came with a tad bit of Parmesan cheese on top which enhanced the vibe of it. I chose the biscoff cookie gelato and it was divine. Full of flavor, perfect amount of cookies in each bite, very fresh as if it was just churned. On top of that, the staff was friendly and patient. Will return to try the pizza and another flavor of gelato since there are plenty to choose from.

We used to frequent this place when our youngest was much younger. We went back today for a bit of nostalgia for her 30th birthday dessert. It did not disappoint. The gelato was as delicious as ever with so many flavors we’ll have to go back soon to try the ones we couldn’t fit in our containers. The service was super attentive and kind. We live on the Northside of Chicago so it’s a bit of a trek but well worth the trip.

My friend and I came here for lunch today and had a great experience. We got to see Angelo and eat some amazing food. The place was busy but we were able to find a table. If you have not heard of this place or have yet to try it out, you should definitely visit this local gem. Their sliced pizze is great and make sure try the chicken parmesan sandwich. We will definitely be back!

I recently tried Massa Cafe for the first time, based on a friend’s rec. to support a good local restaurant. The quality of the food was great, and it’s clear they put effort into their dishes.
However, I unfortunately won’t be ordering from Massa Cafe again for a business lunch, despite the tasty food. I placed a substantial order for 12 people, totaling over $250, through their app, which suggested a pickup time of 12:14 PM. What was supposed to be a quick and efficient lunch pickup turned into a frustrating wait, as I didn’t receive my order until 1:15 PM.
While I understand that delays can happen, the complete lack of communication about the holdup was incredibly disappointing. There was no proactive update, and when I inquired, there seemed to be a general lack of empathy regarding how such a significant delay could impact a customer, especially with a business order. For a professional setting, punctuality and clear communication are key, and Massa Cafe fell short in this regard.
It’s a shame, because the restaurant itself seems like a nice spot, and the food truly was good. For a casual meal where time isn’t as critical, I might consider it, as the food seems like it should be quicker to prepare. But for a business lunch, the uncommunicated delay and lack of concern were deal-breakers.

their sandwiches are SO GOOD. we’ve come back time and time again to try some new sandwiches. the gelato is a lovely experience as well and the case always looks so colorful and decadent. we’ve gotten the frozen pizza that you can take home as well and totally loved it. the crust is crispy and perfect, it’s a great value. coffee orders usually take a while but we’ve gotten coffee several times as well. we will continue to come back for the sandwiches.
