Enjoyed lunch in the peaceful, shaded courtyard at Mason’s. Creative selection of sandwiches & salads – the chef’s salad was a particular favourite – all fresh and delicious. Chic and modern interior for dinner with beautiful black & white photographs of Easton.

A place with great passion in bringing a refreshing, refined and well needed elevation to the Easton area and surrounding competitors. They strive for a high quality of local ingredients and it clearly shows. Menus highlighting the flavors of the season, and they make all of their cocktail and bar ingredients in-house.
The PEI mussels and fried oysters beat any establishment on the Eastern Shore hands down!
They are a reletivly new food/event destination but they are paying homage to an old staple while continuing to create their own legacy.

We four dined at Mason’s last night before a show. Everything, but everything, was absolutely exquisite. We shared the artichoke hearts and curried carrots as appetizers. I would not have thought to order curried carrots but they were delicious. The carrots were warm and crisp and the curry sauce was mild and savory. I chose the skate wing as my main course while my friends all had the scallops. Conversation came to a halt while we all partook of food that melted in our mouths. After devouring the skate wing, which was soft, buttery and flavorful (I didn’t even suggest that anyone else taste it) I spotted an errant scallop on a friend’s plate and took a bite. It was SO good, soft and light. The wines were selected by the very knowledgeable bar tender and we all enjoyed our glasses immensely. We left because we were running late for the performance, but returned for dessert. There were three to choose from, so we once again split them at the table. The green tea pound cake, was light; the spring crisp was a delightful compote, not sweet, but full of flavor; and and the chocolate fudge tart, well, it’s chocolate. What else is there to say. All in all, the price was right, the food was exquisite, our maitre d’ could not have been more charming and we can’t wait to find our way to Mason’s door again.

Great meal in a friendly atmosphere. The chef understands that oysters are delicate & doesn’t over-bread or over-fry them. The host, Chance, leaves nothing to chance in assuring his guests have a great experience!

“I knew the old Mason’s” (think Lloyd Bentsen in the old Presidential debates) and no matter how it tastes, the Old Mason’s stands head and shoulders over the Redux. I know the new owner works hard at it, but the management skills are just not there. First, we were able to walk In on a Friday night at 7 without a reservation and get a very good table. The hostess, our server who did a decent job but she spoke somewhere between a “ff” and a “fff”. Maybe not the worst thing, but getting menu advice from across the room feels, uh, funny…speaking of menus, it was nice enough – 3 soups, 3 salads, 6 appetizers, probably 12 entrees including at least four seafood dishes, a chicken, a couple of beers, a duck and wow(!), even paella!! It was getting more interesting… Paella is a tough dish. It takes a lot of time and it is expensive. The saffron needed to season the mixture – per person – costs about $10 retail, so why don’t we use this South Umbrican stuff that we can get for $2? Except, it does not even taste like saffron…Take it off the menu til you can make it properly. By the way, they had none of the three soups. About 3 other entrees were also no longer available. I need not go further than to also advise you that the medium-rare ordered duck breast was medium-well – and dry.

Over the top renovation. Amazing marble work on the bar. Very NYC. We only had appetizers. The MD crab soup was delicious but more of a bisque. We will go back for dinner soon.

Great food with awesome flavors. I went with friends and chose shrimp with sweet potato puree and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, presentation and taste in a high end elegant atmosphere. Add this place to your list.

Food was bland and certainly not as expected. Even the coffee was weak. New chef?
Very little on the entrees that looked remotely interesting to try. Somewhat embarrassed taking friends to dinner as no one at the table felt food was more than just average and not worth the money spent.
