I am giving a low rating because of the small amount of lobster that was on my roll and the presentation of the roll was thrown together. For the cost, I had higher expectations. What I received versus what I paid for just does not amount. This was disappointing.

My sandwich was dry I ask for Mayo it wasn’t there. The lobster look like it cooked in bulk for the week. It was dry full of pepper like someone just dumped on top. The 2 slices of Bacon old and over cook. The lobster bisque had not one piece of lobster in it. Not one and the potato salad was pretty decent. Will not order again if this is their standard on food taste

For the record, I have not eaten here, yet, I will and give a review. But for the people who do not understand what “bisque” is:
Bisque is a thick, creamy, and smooth soup, traditionally made from a strained broth of shellfish like lobster, crab, or shrimp. It is characterized by its rich, velvety texture, achieved by puréeing the shells to create a flavorful stock and then thickening the soup with heavy cream and sometimes a roux. While seafood is classic, bisques can also be made from other ingredients, such as tomatoes, to create a creamy and luxurious soup.
Every review that complained about no lobster in the bisque, your reviews are irrelevant due to your own ignorance…

Ehhh used to really like Mason’s, but they have recently priced themselves a bit too high for the quality and amount of food being received. The lobster rolls were $16 and used to be a pretty good deal. Solid 4 star experience and food. I would go 2-3X a month. Now, just a few weeks later… Rolls are $19 with no additional lobster meat being provided. To jump from 16 to 19 is substantial, especially without being offered a higher food quality, or more importantly amount. That’s the standard roll price as well. Not the upgraded roll with tail meat. Which by the way is only about the size of my hand.

Lobster mac & cheese was tasty but the portion size for $18 was like a side (looked like it was <50% of the plate). I get that lobster is expensive but I got 2-3 small pieces that tasted a bit rubbery. I cant imagine the actual mac costing that much that they cant manage to give a decent portion size for the price. I expected an entree but got a side or kid’s meal size.

We have been going to Masons since they opened and always have a great experience. the quality of the lobster rolls is consistent and delectable! –
I typically pair my CT lobster roll with a glass of wine from the Grand Cru bar and sit in front of the window to enjoy it – Can’t wait for my next trip

Ordered a classic lobster roll and bowl of bisque, both with extra meat, to go. Total for just the two items was $30, before tax, pretty pricey.
The bisque was creamy and tasted ok. If you want lobster meat in your bisque, the extra meat add on is a must. Otherwise you’ll only get tiny little flakes of lobster every now and then.
The lobster roll itself was much smaller than expected, especially for the price. Even with the extra meat, for the price, it is skimpy on the meat. The roll itself was perfectly toasted. It was seasoned well and the lobster was cooked properly, not tough or chewy, but it did have a fishy taste. Got the Connecticut version with butter, was a bit greasy.
Would I go back, maybe for a special occasion or treat. Would it be a regular place to go, probably not, it’s just not a good value and not great enough to justify the cost.

These brothers are so welcoming and personable. They’ve been holding this spot down for years, making it a treat everytime I go to stop by. I always wind up getting into an engaging conversation that puts a smile on my face. Besides that the Conneticutt Lobster roll is the best ever. The little brioche roll is warm, toasted, soft and buttery all at the same time. The warm Lobster meat pairs exceptionally well with that brioche and butter flavor that you get in every bite. The only bad thing I was saying was, damn their pickle spear got thinner . Guess they had to cut back from somewhere. . Surprisingly enough that little sando will fill your stomach up enough for whatever meal you choose (breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner) no more no less. So don’t get carried away going on a 8 hr road trip and think this sandwich and chips gone last you. Whole takeout experience definitely a 8 out of 10 and I didn’t even sit down inside to eat. So I didn’t even get a chance to see what the dining in customer service was hitting for and he definitely asked me twice was i sitting down (uh oh chick fila ) . good job black men. I love to see it.
