Tried their Shrimp roll and tater tots. I enjoyed every bite. The cocktail shrimps needed some hot sauce (optional- on the counter for you) that I’ve added on and it was great. It was on the pricey side but its ideal for what they have on the menu, seafood is expensive generally. Service was good. No wait time, table was clean as well.

Stopped in Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls to try one of their lobster rolls. The restaurant has a bright and modern feel with some indoor and outdoor seating. They offer a nice menu with a good selection and the service is fast and friendly. We tried their classic lobster roll which is chilled lobster and their Connecticut lobster roll which is warm lobster. Both were delicious with large pieces of lobster in a fully stuffed fresh and soft buttered roll. The lobster meat and rolls were excellent and delicious. Also tried a side of potato salad which was very good . Food is made fresh with quality ingredients . Loved it. Keep up the great work.

After hearing from others about Mason’s, I decided to treat my mom to lunch after her nearby medical appointment. We were warmly welcomed by the young man behind the counter, but his hospitality didn’t end there. He patiently explained the menu options to us and then personally brought our meals over to us, stopping over twice to make sure we were enjoying our meals. What a delicious mid day treat! We both had the all butter lobster rolls and they were delicious! Pricey, but we are talking lobster. Definitely someplace I’d come back to for an occasional treat!

Mason’s Famous Lobster Roll? Oh yeah, it’s famous alright. If this roll isn’t on the front page of TIME Magazine by next year, I’m starting a petition.

The lobster tasted so fresh I legit checked the back of the restaurant for a secret ocean portal. I half expected to see a bunch of dudes from Deadliest Catch hauling traps right into the kitchen while a chef yells, “WE NEED MORE BUTTER!”

And speaking of butter… that roll? Oh. My. Crustacean. The bread was toasted like it just came back from a luxury vacation—golden, soft, buttery on the inside, with just enough crisp on the outside to make my jaw go “thank you.”

Yeah, it’s pricey. But lobster ain’t exactly swimming around asking to be put in a $5 value meal. You’re paying for pure luxury in handheld form. Honestly, it’s worth it. If you’re on a budget, maybe skip gas for a week and walk everywhere—because one bite of this roll and you’ll feel richer than a seafood tycoon.

Bottom line: Mason’s isn’t just famous, it’s borderline legendary. I left full, happy, and slightly suspicious that Poseidon himself might be working the fryer.

First time here and everything was exceptionally tasty. I had the New England Clam Chowder and the Connecticut Roll with a generous portion of lobster on it. Highly recommend if you’re in this area and shopping around. Mason’s did not disappoint!

Nice clean place right on main street in the promenade. Usually very busy and they recommend ordering ahead. But today no people and no wait. Got the bigger roll for 30$ it was just ok what I expected I am used to having the lobster tossed in mayo and celery a classic roll. This roll was just a squirt of mayo and it seemed like butter too. They put a whole small tail on top which makes for a meaty bite. So was it worth 30$ no. But it was a good quick bite.

Great lobster roll, plenty of lobster in the roll. I definitely recommend it. If you’re in the area come and enjoy it with family and friends or by yourself you will not be disappointed.

I had a Connecticut style lobster roll which was delicious full of meat and full of flavor no complaints with regards to that. However, the staff wasn’t too inviting when we enter the establishment. I believe staff is supposed to greet you the customer. However, we the customers had to greet them. Overall I would recommend this establishment, but I wouldn’t expect a warm welcome and if you’re good with that then go.

This place is absolutely amazing with an extremely clean place for you to sit inside or take out.The Connecticut roll combo with soup (1 with lobster bisque and the other with New England clam chowder) far exceeded my expectations and definitely worth every penny!!!!. This is the best lobster roll and closest thing I have had to anything resembling what I would order in Cape May NJ. Finally a taste of the shore near home!!!

I have now sampled numerous lobster rolls at this location over maybe 6-8 visits. The experiences have all been a good deal more than satisfactory and I believe the value holds up well when compared to other casual, (informal, bare table) seafood restaurants elsewhere. It’s difficult to find a lobster roll (let alone at this price point) as well prepared with notable attention to quality and quantity – though admittedly served in an uninspiring fast-food setting.

The difference-maker at this location is its employees. Each of them in my experience is focused, attentive, personable and professional. They move with purpose, they act as though this is what they want to be doing as opposed to “just a job.” This does not happen by accident. Someone is screening and training people who are customer driven and motivated.

Today I came in for a late lunch and the place was not busy – only two others in the dining area. I went to the counter, was met by a beaming, positively-charged, eager-to-be-in-service employee who nearly as I could tell was pretty much in charge of the operation, no one else in sight. I said to her: “I’m not really sure which of the top three menu items I want – classic, Connecticut or lobster salad roll. How about you choose one for me but don’t tell me as I don’t want to ruin the surprise.”

She accepted the challenge with a dazzling smile and a sense of mission. She then went back to prepare and deliver it, mentioned that it was her personal favorite – and it was great.

I specifically asked for her name so that I could praise her work and attitude in this review. Well done Jada. You do your employer proud.

The dining are was spotless and that gives me confidence that the kitchen and prep areas are also well attended as befits the mandates of a dining establishment.

Outside of the lobster rolls the menu is limited. One can get potato chips, tater tots, mac and cheese, soup and few other items. They did have available one featured combo, a lobster roll, tots and a drink. Would like to see perhaps a few others from time to time, but that in no diminished the overall visit.

At risk of stating the obvious, the food can be great but absent the right people the total experience suffers. This Mason Lobster Roll location clearly has the right people.

5 stars well earned.
