Update: the menu on the website had none of the entrees as the in person menu for new years eve. I was all excited for the elk with pierogis and they didn’t have it. What I had was amazing, but I feel like it wouldn’t have compared to their offerings online, especially for $125. I tried both of the menus and Christmas dinner was definitely better in my book. The lobster Bisque was brown and not orange which was different for me and it didn’t exude lobster flavor.
What a great find in downtown Milwaukee! From the moment we arrived, our server, Noah M, made us feel truly special. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and the staff welcomed us with a complimentary glass of champagne—a thoughtful and classy touch.
Noah was fantastic throughout the evening. He walked us through the daily specials, offered excellent recommendations, and was incredibly attentive, answering all of our questions with a warm and friendly attitude.
The food was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The drinks were spot on, too. Everything about our experience was top-notch.
We’ll definitely be coming back soon!
Also…try the chocolate cake…
Everything was on point here – cocktails delicious; appetizers were perfectly sized for 2 (herbed goat cheese); steak (Dry Aged Heritage Ribeye) was a perfect med-rare and rested properly; Fennel salad was fresh and crisp; sides were well portioned and balanced (sweet corn brulee); dessert was carrot cake and fantastically moist.
Highly recommend if you are in Milwaukee for any reason.
Bonus – you get your check in a tiny leather couch, and it is a great little touch at the end!
For the appetizer we ordered the clams which was a phenomenal choice best appetizer.
The twin filet medallions were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend ordering them medium-well—the tenderness paired beautifully with the rich Madeira sauce. The duck foie gras, served atop a crisp piece of bread, was delicate and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
The 64-hour braised short rib was a true delicacy. It was incredibly tender and full of depth. For those sensitive to heat, I suggest removing the dried spiral peppers, as they do add a touch of spice, but otherwise, this dish is a 10/10.
The Delmonico potatoes were outstanding creamy, flavorful, and undeniably addictive. This is easily one of the best side dishes I’ve ever had, and I would recommend it to anyone dining here.
On the other hand, the MKE Mac & Cheese was the only disappointment of the evening. The cheese blend didn’t quite harmonize and left the dish tasting grainy and lacking flavor. I personally would love to see it reimagined with a three-cheese combination such as feta, Parmesan, and mozzarella.
For cocktails, the Road Mai Tai stood out as the perfect pairing with steak. Balanced and refreshing, the flavors of orange curaçao and lime juice shone through, while the toasted macadamia offered a subtle nutty finish. It was easily the best drink on the menu.
As it was my birthday, I was treated to a complimentary mousse bomb, which was rich, creamy, and deeply chocolatey. Garnished with fresh raspberries and a milk chocolate “Happy Birthday” sign, it was a delightful touch that made the celebration feel extra special.
Lastly, the carrot cake deserves its own praise. Fluffy, moist, and full of flavor, it tasted unmistakably homemade. The cream cheese frosting was silky smooth, and the warm notes of cinnamon tied it all together. This is, without question, the best dessert on their menu.
Our server, Tyler, was fantastic. He checked on us often, was attentive without being intrusive, and made sure everything about our visit was seamless. His service elevated the experience even further.
Overall, Mason Street Grill delivered an outstanding dining experience with a few unforgettable highlights. I would gladly return for the filet medallions, short rib, Delmonico potatoes, and carrot cake alone.
