Both times I’ve been there, the service hasn’t been that great. Food is good, but I altered my order a l little to add more sauce, and it came out totally dry. Nobody came back to the table to check after the food was dropped. All in all, I’ll go back, I’ll just be a little more particular. It’s definitely worth going to!

Very impressed with the management of this restaurant. We met both the owners, one of which is the chef. You can tell they have a ton of pride in their business and care about each customer’s experience. We dined here this past Thursday evening and observed how attentive every single server was. It is such a different experience than being just a number at many other places.

It has been a while since my husband and I had a dine-in date night, and I am so happy that we chose Mason as our night out. The owner was working and was very friendly, however they had a very young staff who you could tell were learning the ropes, which left a long wait. First, the server, outstanding. It was a most impressive explanation of food, with vivid details. The food, some good, some not the best. We went with locals who enjoyed the place. The location and atmosphere were great. The appetizers – heirloom tomatoes and cantaloupe – were great. The locals loved their food – they get the same chicken and shrimp every time but I can’t recall what it was. The kids plates of pasta and sauce were great. My wife had lamb chops – cooked perfectly but perfectly bland. No added flavor or spice. Definitely not New Zealand tasting lamb. I had the rolled veal special. It came out very dry and over cooked. It didn’t have a great flavor. I am not sure what was going on, but a entrees took a long time to be served. The locals will go back, us not so much.

Unfortunately this place is overrated in my opinion. The atmosphere is confusing, just the random decor that doesn’t fit and the bright lights in the dining room were not how I imagined this place would be. Less is more. The food was ok at best but I am from a state where Italian food is number one so I figured I would be picky. The service was not great at all. Way too long of a wait for service and server not attentive with filling drinks or checking in. Though she was friendly as was everyone.

I came to Mason with my wife to celebrate her birthday. We had read the good reviews about Mason and were looking forward to it. I called ahead in the afternoon and was told no reservations were required that night (Saturday). When we arrived, we were surprised to find it very busy. After waiting for a while awkwardly at the entrance, the host finally came and asked if we had a reservation. I told him that I’d called earlier and was told no reservations were required. “I don’t know who told you that but we are full and don’t have availability for an hour”, he replied with a patronizing tone. There was no attempt made to reconcile or accommodate us. They simply didn’t seem interested in our business. My wife and I left, disappointed and irked by the rudeness of the host. I can’t comment on the food or experience since we didn’t get a chance to try. I don’t think I will be coming back to this place.
