Absolutely lovely restaurant with amazing Italian food. We had the escargot and lasagna. We were told the portion size of the lasagna was large, and it was. Everything was delicious!! The service was excellent. The decore is lovely. I highly recommend Mason.

My daughter brought us here, she lives in the area, we were out visiting. The place was booked for the evening, the chef set a table outside up for us. Beautiful evening. The chef recommended the lasagna so we ordered. They also had an outstanding wine selection. Tiramisu was the dessert choice. Definitely would stop back in.

I don’t usually go out for Italian food. I mean why? I can make dried pasta and sauce at home and not pay $20. But Mason is a glorious, wonderful exception. This is Italian food worth going out for… and worth driving for, since Mason is hidden away in “downtown” Sherwood.
Mason’s atmosphere is small, comfortable, and nurturing. The staff are friendly and clearly passionate about the food. It’s neither fussy nor exclusive – everyone will feel welcomed.
But of course the food is the star. Elements of French cuisine are integrated (excellent escargot!), much of the pasta is house made, the foccacia is excellent. Portions are generous, but not, you know, gross. And everything is really delicious! The menu is always well considered, with the usual standards, but also nods to the season and local availability. Make reservations and check open hours, but above all, give it a try.

We had a wonderful time here for my wife’s birthday! The staff and owner were all very friendly and the prices were extremely reasonable. I had a manhattan and it was perfect – high quality sweet vermouth, they stirred it properly so it was cold without shaking it and making it cloudy, and there were no ice shards in the drink. Perfection. The lasagna was also incredible and a HUGE portion. We will be back.

My family and I went here for the first time. We thought it would be good because of their 4.7 rating. I had the angle hair pasta with shrimp. It was very bland at best. The charcuterie plate was a joke. They give three different cheeses with three of the tiniest slices each. There was a huge bowl of pickled vegetables in the middle and very small amounts of meat and cheese. My wine was another joke. They give you a huge wine glass with a very small pour. If I’m paying $16 for a glass of wine that costs more than the whole bottle, they should give you a good pour. We were all very disappointed with the disproportionate sizes of everything. Extremely overpriced for what you get. We will not be eating there again!

Very impressed with the management of this restaurant. We met both the owners, one of which is the chef. You can tell they have a ton of pride in their business and care about each customer’s experience. We dined here this past Thursday evening and observed how attentive every single server was. It is such a different experience than being just a number at many other places.
And the food! The caprese appetizer was fresh and flavorful featuring large heirloom tomatoes. The shrimp in my husband’s angel hair pasta were large and cooked to a perfect bounce. I had a juicy strip steak with a creamy mash and zucchini on the side. It was beautiful.

It has been a while since my husband and I had a dine-in date night, and I am so happy that we chose Mason as our night out. The restaurant has a very warm, friendly feel, the servers are professional and so knowledgeable about the menu. And what a menu! The food was imaginative, fresh, hot and delicious.

First, the server, outstanding. It was a most impressive explanation of food, with vivid details. The food, some good, some not the best. We went with locals who enjoyed the place. The location and atmosphere were great. The appetizers – heirloom tomatoes and cantaloupe – were great. The locals loved their food – they get the same chicken and shrimp every time but I can’t recall what it was. The kids plates of pasta and sauce were great. My wife had lamb chops – cooked perfectly but perfectly bland. No added flavor or spice. Definitely not New Zealand tasting lamb. I had the rolled veal special. It came out very dry and over cooked. It didn’t have a great flavor. I am not sure what was going on, but a entrees took a long time to be served. The locals will go back, us not so much.
