Pay yourself in sushi! Here’s why…

See, I’ve been told by an esquire, that when you budget, you pay yourself first, before the other required expenses. Sooooo, I pay myself with sushi sometimes. This is acceptable, yeah, cuz either I try to save $25, which would eventually get spent anyway, or use it on something valuable.

The value of sushi or sashimi with vegetables, is that it contains your alphabet Vitamins A, B, C, and D; plus, the greatly beneficial Omega-3. In addition to those benefits, getting a bento box combo with chicken gives you more protein for building muscle. This array of vitamins and protein sources provides satiety. It’s an ideal meal for gym goers and maybe health enthusiasts; or like me a part-time dog walker.

Alright, now that you’ve heard me out and possibly have known all this before, then, yeah have brunch, lunch, or dinner here at Matsuyama. They’re conveniently located around the corner from the gym. Perfect for you! …and also, it beats having to look for a different parking space. Just walk, you know. The shopping plaza has a great coffee shop too.

Once they open, it’s nice and quiet so you get fast service with individualized attention. They’re calm and check on you frequently enough. Simple conversation, and a peaceful meal; peaceful like it would be on a pine mountain (Matsuyama).

The restaurant was overall pretty well kept and clean. The server was super nice and offered miso soup on the house. Everything was great! I don’t want to sound like a Karen, but the California roll did taste a little funky but other than that 10 out of 10 experience. Everybody was so friendly and my family had a good dinner

I stopped in right at opening time to place a large order for a luncheon. They were quick to respond to the request. The packaging for the food to be taken “Togo” was flawless. The food was great. The sashimi deluxe had the largest pieces of fish I have ever seen. If you enjoy Sashimi this is the place for you. They serve it on a bed of rice with a salad. The chicken teriyaki looked great as well that I got with the order. I am totally impressed with the care that was placed in making our dishes perfect! If and when I’m in Lodi again wanting sushi this will be the spot that I will go back to!

The waitress was really nice and polite. It wasn’t bad service but the rolls were falling apart. The food was alright but I feel like I could go somewhere nicer for only 10$ more. Not bad but personally I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Saw the reviews on Google and have heard some good things from a family member about Matsuyama. Upon dining here I was disappointed. The bathrooms were not clean at all, which should have been a sign as to how the rest of the experience would go. The food was bland, service ok and the price a but too high for lunch. What really made the experience was when I ate the shrimp ate the end of the meal and noticed it was not even deveined. This was after I had already taken a bite and thought it tasted funny. For a lunch that cost my husband and I $55, I would expect that the shrimp would be cleaned and edible. Grossed out and disappointed. Needless to say we will not be going back to Matsuyama.

Wheeeewwww child, i used to live in Lodi and this was the first place I ever came to try sushi! I loved this place. I would take all my friends to try. I even had my first date with my husband here. Well I moved to Modesto and haven’t been there since we moved( we even brought sushi back from here to our new apartment) that’s how much we loved this place. Well we recently celebrated our 12 year anniversary and he brought me back here. Let’s just say my chicken had a foul smell! I took a small nibble to see if I was tripping! And yes it was gross! Never in my whole 34 years on earth have I tried something so foul! The sushi roll was pretty but the tempura was over cooked!

The rice was mushy and just everything on our plates was gross! I gave it 2 for the waitress she was kind but the lady that took our order is rude.

I will never be back or recommend anybody to go im pretty sure that chicken was spoiled. I’m sorry to give this place a bad review I really loved coming here.

This is what was left of our Philadelphia Roll, Rainbow Roll, Unagi and Sake Sashimi and Shrimp and Vegetables Tempura appetizer… For two people!! As you can see, the food was a very delicious and the serving portions of the sashimi we’re easily the largest portions we’ve had anywhere. We’ve been here five times already, and we haven’t been disappointed yet!

Run of the mill strip mall sushi joint catering to American pallet. Meh. Mid grade sashimi (was fresh enough but not mond blowing), good service, clean restaurant.

My son and I loved it! He mentioned several times, while eating, how good it was. We didn’t know what to order and our waitress recommend a couple rolls that were fantastic, and both were reasonably priced. I appreciated that she didn’t just go for the most expensive option. We will be back. Prices ranged from $8-16 for a roll. The only downside would be that the sodas are served by the can and there are no free refills. Other than that, we loved it.
