We had a fantastic experience at Masala Indian Restaurant in Brasilito. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and quickly seated us at a lovely table. The service throughout the evening was excellent — friendly, polite, courteous, and very helpful with both food and drink recommendations.
We enjoyed a few delicious cocktails to start, followed by crispy calamari with crispy onions — so good and perfectly cooked. For mains, we shared several dishes including butter chicken, beef tikka sizzle, apricot cheese-stuffed dumplings, aloo tikki, and an assortment of naan and rice. Every dish was bursting with flavour, beautifully balanced at a medium heat, and it’s great that you can choose your preferred spice level.
Prices were very fair, the service was fast and seamless, and everything came out perfectly timed. A truly enjoyable dining experience — I highly recommend this restaurant!

Staying at W hotel. Super close, great food, great staff! Highly recommend when you need a break from Hotel food!
Samosas were too good didn’t get a picture until almost gone. They were huge and had lots of flavor!
Tandoori vegetables were plentiful and very tasty. They were a big hit at the table.
The Chicken Tikka Masala was perfect and paired well with the Lemon Coconut Rice.
The Chicken Tikka Sizzler had just the right amount of spice and paired well with the Garlic Naan!

Service, food, ambience everything 5/5… Sashi manages the show so well and makes you feel at home instantly, goes out of the way to serve you and give you the best experience ever! The food is indeed delicious and one of the best in town! We ordered paneer tikka, biryani with salan and raita and some drinks… everything was freshly made and tasted excellent! Highly recommed to stop by on your way to playa flamingo and you will be in for a treat for sure!! Thank you Sashi and team for treating us as family and serving us the best!

Never expected an Indian restaurant to be the best meal I had in Costa Rica, but this blew me away! The amazing smell of the food wafts out to the street, and then you walk into the cutest entrance and gorgeous patio. Had the butter chicken and yellow dhal and it was well above my expectations! Authentic spice (we asked for spicy) with such strong aromatic flavours! Highly recommend everyone try this place immediately!

Had Aloo Gobi with coconut lemon rice, also kofta curry with nan. Had mangalam mango mocktail- excellent. Will definitely be repeat customer and highly recommend to all to try.

I’m visiting from the U.S. and had passed by Masalaa several times before finally stopping in. As a cook myself, I truly appreciated every aspect of the experience. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, which set the tone right away. I ordered the butter chicken, and it was absolutely incredible rich, flavorful, and authentic. The food overall made me feel as though I was dining in India itself. If you’re in the area, or anywhere in Costa Rica, I highly recommend visiting Masalaa for a genuine taste of traditional Indian cuisine.
