My son took me out for dinner last night and this is where we came. I have been coming here for many years and am always pleased with what I order. Typically it’s the buffet. Which is what we both had last night. Everything was fresh, hot and so tasty. The staff is always quick, courteous and friendly. The owners are always so pleasant as well. The atmosphere is calming and nice to look at. All day today I was wanting more….even though I ate more than enough last night. One of my fav things is the salad. I absolutely love their balsamic vinaigrette. It’s the best I’ve tasted. I usually have seconds.
I would recommend Masala Grille to anyone who enjoys some flavour and a nice spot to spend some time.

Wonderful first experience at this beautiful restaurant! I love that it is an old mansion. We had a lovely server, I wish I learned her name so I could rave about her. The naan bread was delicious. Tons of cool drinks to choose from, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Will definitely be returning 🙂

We stopped at Masala Grill during our road trip from Toronto to Winnipeg, and it turned out to be one of the best food experiences of the entire journey! The food was absolutely delicious — perfectly spiced, fresh, and full of authentic Indian flavors. Every dish tasted homemade with great attention to detail.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick even though the place was busy. The restaurant itself was clean and had a nice cozy atmosphere — perfect for a relaxing dinner after a long drive.
Highly recommend this place to anyone passing through Thunder Bay or looking for amazing Indian food. Definitely a must-stop spot on the route!

We order food no-one asked us about spice level. Food arrived after 35mins and it was super hot spicy.. i mean spicy spicy. Called the guy Mr. Ishan came in and without even knowing how spicy the food is he commented this is regular spicy we serve. I asked him do you want to try from serving bowl he said No I know its our medium spicy..!!
Nothing left to said. We finish our portions and left. Rice was stale. Will never go here again..

It’s been years since I last visited Masala Grille. When we saw they were hosting an Indian street food buffet, we decided to try it again. The food was good – definitely enjoyed the pani puri and chaat bar. Our server was excellent! Even though it was a buffet, she continually checked on us, explained the various food options, brought us extra food from the buffet to guarantee we tried everything, and was beyond attentive. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name, but she was great. Masala Grille is definitely a good choice if you’re looking for a solid Indian option in Thunder Bay.

From my experience this restaurant in Thunder Bay is the best. I liked their decorations, services and specially foods are so delicious. Their naan is special with dishes. I tried lamb dishes which are halal and chana masala is my favorite with Somosas. I highly recommend this restaurant in TB.

I was here on Tuesday and the server was pretty rude. She was rushing us to get out while the food was bought to our table only at 7.19pm. I understand your closing time. But, give people their time to enjoy your food. She was insaan! I wouldn’t come in again.

The sever guy was very helpful and friendly.
Felt like we went to a restaurant in India.
Their buffet option is a great deal
And they will bring more nans per person in table
They also have good drinks.
Overall it was great.
The only thing to be noted is their restaurant timing which is only for a short duration comapred to other reasturants.
