What can I say? We loved it.
The service was good, the guy who served us was very attentive and gave us good recommendations.
We were able to try the non-alcohol beer (Laziza) with green apple flavor, so refreshing but our favorite was the Mango lassi, so creamy, sweet on point and sooo addictive.

The portions were large, we shared all the dishes and were even able to take some home. They gave us a kind of crusty bread (It definitely wasn’t a bread, but I don’t know what it’s called.) with delicious sauces before our meal.
For appetizers we ordered the vegetable samosas, a lot of flavor on it, a little dry but you can complement it with the sauces.
The pani poori was good and a little spicy but we liked more the samosas

For entree, the chicken tikka masala was the choice and the star for the place. I can understand why. So creamy, with a lot of the tikka masala sauce, the chicken was tender and the rice it was loose and well cooked, We ordered it with the cheese naan bread and the bread was too cheesy, soft and balanced perfectly all the meal.

Ever since that day, I’ve been longing to go back. I’ll return to try different options at this place.

I recommend it

After spending an hour walking around downtown Brooklyn with my mom. Something told me to stop at this quaint Indian restaurant. It is a Hidden gem the food is so authentic tasty the atmosphere is absolutely charming. And we even got to meet the owner and the chef after complementing the food and service.

If you’re looking for a charming, authentic warm welcoming place, you have to give Masala Grill a try!

The food was so good. I didn’t even think to take a picture.

we came for lunch, but when they’re opened …

This place is definitely a hidden gem! The food was incredible, and the service was just as impressive. Every dish we tried was absolutely phenomenal — we loved it! They don’t serve drinks, but they happily accommodate BYOB, which is a nice touch.

We ordered few items from the menu, I’ll take you through each individually. It is a halal Indian/Pakistani cuisine.

Butter Chicken – Flavour was okiesh, lot of room for improvement.

Tarka daal – it was good, we had it in medium spicy flavour… you can try with more spices.

Mixed Grill – Combination of different grilled items… it was again okies… nothing special.

Garlic chicken – no much taste in it, chicken wasn’t cooked either.

Masala Karahi – This was slightly better than other dishes, still had too much of large chunks of mixed vegetables in it, just to make it bigger so you put less meat… if you remove all bulky vegetables chunks then you are left with only few pieces of chicken.

They gave boiled rice with main dishes.

They offered us complementary rice pudding desert, it was okiesh.

Customer service was average, no politenes. If you are very hungry then probably give them one chance.

Service was great, food was mid, definitely more bengladeshi than indian flavor-wise. Lacked salt & spice. There was a very loud & rowdy customer that was bothering the ambiance of the entire restaurant, I wish they had asked her to settle down. Otherwise a good spot

The food had flavor but little to no salt. My veggies samosas were FIRE!!!!. I ordered a special on the menu and was told it was takeout only although the menu did not denote this. The cashier did inform me he would pack it to go and allow me to eat at a table.

We love this place! I think the bad reviews are from years ago!!! This is our favorite Indian food restaurant. The garlic naan and chicken with the amazing delicious sauce either butter or masala are the best! Shrimp appetizers are yummy.

We order from there all the time. Honestly, it’s the best Samosas we’ve had in New York outside of Jackson Heights. They are homemade (my wife is South Asian). Also recommend the Mutter Paneer and Lamb Briyani ❤️

UPDATE:

This is actually my second time here, so far I have not a single complaint to write about . And as a Bangladeshi I feel proud that a Bangladeshi owned business doing such an excellent job running this place.

I came right after my son’s graduation ceremony at Barclays. We were all so tired & real hungry. We got lucky that my parents are here to see my son graduation ceremony! And we have no other family here, so I wanted to make my son feel special with all of here together. Also took one of his closest friend with us !

The food was really great, Altho Bangladeshi food are spicy but because of the location I do understand why they have to changed it up a spices! The service was excellent. Very polite, helpful, informative; even my dad was happy with the service!

Because the place is small I did call 10 min before just to make sure we have a seat for 5 people. And at first they were saying it will be tight but I told them it’s raining and we had been here at Barclays all day on this heat & my family is tired & hungry. We need to seat down & eat lol. Because there were not much halal restaurants nearby where you actually can seat down . They did made the accommodation & we all much appreciated their efforts !

My son’s friend is Mexican & he loved the food . Especially mango lassi, me personally love my regular lassi but I tried some from my son & I gotta say it was delicious. Btw, lol we were so hungry, even me that I forgot to take pictures of the food ! Sorry ..!

We did met the owner & he was such a gentleman! My parents talked with him for a while & he answered all their questions. Much appreciated that!

Btw I forgot to thank you guys for not ran with the flow like other halal restaurants in NY City which serves alcohol! You guys are loosing some money but you still respected our religion & keep it 100 percent Halal. And for that you guys earned our respect!

Keep up the great work. If I am near the area I will definitely be here, rather then anywhere else.

It was a nice experience visiting this cozy tiny place . Decor is nice . Stuff is welcoming & helpful. I have seen lots of takeouts while I was having lunch . The price is reasonable & food tasted great.

I would not have know by the name that it’s a Bangladeshi owned restaurant & stuff are also from Bangladesh. And yes it’s a halal restaurant. If you are near Atlantic ave in Brooklyn, should give it a try.
