The server was amazing with the fact that we had 4 kids with us. With the large party the tip was automatically included, but we still left an addiontal tip because we had such a great time and enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for a great birthday memory!
I stopped by for lunch because I was in the area, and regret my decision to do so. Ordered a tall hot sake and the 3 roll lunch set with the Alaskan, yellowtail with green onion and a shrimp tempura roll.
The hot sake tasted like it had been cut with gutrot bottom shelf vodka so I went for a sip of water only to notice bits of something swirling around in the glass under the ice. Miso came out, it tasted like it was out of a box that had been in the back of a cabinet for a few years. The “salad” was a few irregular chunks of iceberg lettuce with a mostly flavorless “ginger dressing” slopped on top. The dressing tasted like someone put old leftover gari in a blender with some thousand island then watered it down. It turned out to be a barely adequate palate cleanser though, so I saved it for the sushi.
The rolls came out but the waiter walked off without leaving me any soy sauce or a small dish for dipping. I had to flag him down and he looked surprised when I told him I wanted soy.
Sushi was better than the sides, but not by much. I’d give the Alaska and yellowtail a 4 out of 10. The shrimp tempura tasted like carnival food.. the fry color was way too deep and the oil may have been old.
Good sake is usually what draws me to a sushi location, but I wouldn’t even pay $1 for that $11 tall bottle. Pretty sure it wasn’t 100% sake at all.. it burned like cheap liquor and had an acrid odor. I can look past one or two little things, but overall this experience was irredeemable. I won’t be visiting again.
Not only that, but the chef kept being rude and was in a horrible mood throughout the entirety of his service. His negative mood and impolite manners honestly ruined this entire experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially not if you’re trying to celebrate something big like a graduation.
The food was also incredibly mediocre, which is upsetting given how damn expensive it was! I ordered scallops, and they were overcooked and BURNED! The edges were black and tasted nasty. The salmon was so damn dry I almost choked on it. If you want to feel as though you’ve spent your money wisely, this is NOT the place to be. Go find something more honorable for your family, something with more integrity.
