Excellent hibachi. Very good sushi. Questionable service, our server was inattentive and did not check on us enough. We needed soy sauce or water or a new fork and waited 10 or 15 minutes each time before anyone checked on us. The food was excellent. Menu attached since there were no menu pictures on google reviews.

Looking from the outside it seems modest, going in clean, spacious, and the staff was extremely nice. We sat at the hibachi grill, we met our amazing chef 10/10 amazing! Would give more stars if I could just because of him! However we didn’t catch his name but he is was from New York before moving here. Our food was amazing and spaced out enough with the hibachi show in-between.

Complete loss for words. Food was good, drinks were good….service was TERRIBLE! I had to literally leave my seat TWICE to get my own drinks from the bar. At one point I had to walk around to find my server as the entire table was without water or napkins. Anyway, bill came to $172…..I left $200. This is about 17%. As we were leaving the waitress said VERY loudly “why you no leave 20%?” Um, because the service was terrible? You’re lucky I left what I did. Never in my life has this happened to me…….ever. This place is the absolute worst and based on other reviews…….it looks like I’m not alone.

The restaurant still looks new and very spacious. Service was fast and friendly. However, the sushi was only decent and pricey for razor thin fish slices compared to other nearby sushi restaurants. My biggest disappointment was their 5 pieces of toro sashimi for $30 that looks amazing, but didn’t taste fresh. I hope they coukd improve there food quality if they continue to charge a premium. Still, I would like to return in the future to try their hibachi as they look entertaining for family and friends.

A good time beside the grill with your group. The manager was really slow to seat us and wasn’t friendly. The sushi was so so, the chef was fun. In a strip mall, the dining room is kind of small and has colorful projections on the wall

The food was good but terrible service. The server gave us bad attitude when we ordering. The restaurant is not so honest as they auto charged 18% tips (we have party of 2 only) and named it as “service charge”! They also add the tips option on the bill, if you do not pay attention on your bill, you may double pay the tips to the server!

It’s really sad because my family and I have come here for over a decade, but today was major disappointment. We walk in to enjoy a hibachi meal, and we were told we could not do hibachi show (for my three kids mind you) because my 3 year old wasn’t going to order a meal, she was going to share with me. My 9 year old was ordering and so was I but that wasn’t enough for them they said. After being a customer for so long, I’m not sure why it was such a big deal to throw a show on for the kids. Guess a single mom can’t take her kiddos out for entertainment. So we left and my daughter who is 3 took her lemonade that she already drank out of and they tried to cause a scene saying it wasn’t paid for. Well we have to find somewhere else to go because you denied us a show and a 3 dollar lemonade that you would throw in the trash anyways because she already drank out of it, is the least you could let my kids have. I always tip the cook and I tip again at the end for the restaurant, this was a ridiculous experience today! No one was even there, it was literally just US you would think you’d want some money vs no money at all but hey that shows why they went out of business in the first place , off toe Friendly’s we go 🙂 and we will use a diff hibachi in the future 🙂 100 percent recommended Yamato across the street! :)!!

Food was fine (although portions seemed smaller than last time). The restaurant itself is nice and has been fully modernized since Hibachi was here prior. However – the service left a ton to be desired.

We went on a Saturday night without a reservation and were seated within 15 minutes. The trouble started immediately once we sat down. Non-alcoholic drinks took almost 20 minutes, and it literally took over an hour (I am not exaggerating at all; we timed it) for them to send a chef to the table after seating my party of 3 and another family of 6, because they were apparently short a chef. There was no warning or acknowledgment of this at any point in the evening by any of the staff, no “sorry for the wait, here’s a drink on the house,” or a “thanks for your understanding, we’re short-staffed” – nothing – we had to get up and go to the front to ask what was happening. The waitress they assigned to our table was rude and pretty much nonexistent, probably because she knew everyone at the table was upset.

Someone in my party had recent surgery and is unable to eat large meals. She wanted to order a kids-sized chicken and was told no because she is over 10. In addition, they brought out my maki appetizer without chopsticks and forgot to bring out one of our soups.

Someone in my party asked a manager ~45 minutes into our post-seating wait to consider crediting the entire table (including another family not in our party) a portion of our bills back due to the lack of service, and the checks still showed up for the full amount when we finished. The staff suddenly became very quick on their feet once it became time for us to pay.

To tie it all together, they brought out our bill with an 18% service charge added for our party of 3 and had the audacity to ask for an additional tip on top of that. I would’ve tipped nothing had I been given the choice, but Masa decided to make it for me.

This place used to be good and I was in there frequently. Based on my experience this evening and other recent reviews it seems to have done a complete 180 since it opened. I don’t like knocking local businesses, but the staff/management at Masa have horrible attitudes and their customer service is in dire need of attention. It is not a cheap place and the quality of service should reflect the prices.

I will not be back.
