We stopped by Ma’s Bakery in Bloomington on the way to work and picked up some treats — and wow, everything was amazing! The turnovers were flaky, buttery, and filled with the most perfectly balanced fruit filling I’ve ever tasted. Honestly, I have never had a turnover this good. The cookies were soft, the cinnamon roll was melt-in-your-mouth perfection, and everything tasted like it was made with love. Truly, it tasted like my grandma made it fresh, just got me! That is so hard to find!
On top of that, the family who runs it is so sweet, humble, and welcoming — the kind of people who make you feel like you’re walking into their home kitchen. The prices were almost too low for the quality and care that go into every bite.
If you’re anywhere near Bloomington, do yourself a favor and stop at Ma’s Bakery. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why small family bakeries are the heart of a community.

Absolutely blown away by how incredible the food was here! Everything we ordered was the best we have ever had, there is no comparison. Fellow guests were incredibly courteous and took it upon themselves to top off our drinks just to help out the staff! Staff and patrons treated us like their own family We plan on making the drive here again anytime we are in the state, it’s just that good.

DO NOT HAVE THEM CATER YOUR EVENT!! Their website says they’ve never ran short on food at an event before, that’s a lie. We had them cater our wedding and about 50 people didn’t get to eat because there was no food left. We had to order pizzas for our guests that didn’t get food and did not get reimbursed for the cost. I called them twice and they said they would send a check in the mail to cover the cost of the pizzas…. Never got the check. They claim they served 350 people, but we did the math and there was only 332 people that attended. Very ignorant on the phone when I tried explaining what happened and ruined the night for many of our guests. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Twice now they have messed up our order. Once they lost or order and when we where given dried flavorless food we did not even receive a discount. Then we ordered “pork” and even if that white flakey “meat” was pork it was dry and flavorless. The service is non-existence and inside is filthy and definitely in a health code violation. As someone who grew up in a small town, that is no excuse for this pathetic restaurant
