Our first time on Mother’s Day and every dish was delicious. Fish was so fresh. The potato sauerkraut soup was amazing! Glompkis were delicious and the chicken dumplings were also very good. My husband said his burger was the best he had ever! Not exaggerating — shocked he said that bc we are persnickety!! They gave us a complimentary chocolate mousse for the occasion and the German chocolate cake was good too. We loved everything about this place!

We had a very enjoyable meal with two appetizers, one entree, two beers and Cake for dessert. The decor of the restaurant does a lot with a little giving the feel of a German American celebration of all things Germany. The food was delicious and very well prepared, compliments to the chef! The service was excellent even though only one server was fulfilling the bar and dining for the whole restaurant. Fortunately it wasn’t too busy at 1:00 on Wednesday afternoon.
Deducted one star for somewhat high prices ( >$100 including tip for two persons) and short staffing that could have been disastrous. We will definitely be back again. They have a great list of German and Michigan beers on tap.

Food was absolutely delicious! Our waitress was also awesome! Atmosphere was great although it would be better if they would play a German song once or twice an hour, just for atmosphere.

Great German Food!!!! Loved the German Nachos. The waitress was extremely helpful with questions about food allergies. Definitely want to go back. They do need a larger beer mug though, 32 oz just doesn’t cut it, lol!!!

We went to this restaurant on a trip to Gaylord. The food was very tasty and good. Portions were plenty. The waitress was super friendly for being a busy night. She recommended the Schnitzel and it didn’t disappoint! Also we enjoyed the decor of the restaurant. We will definitely be back to this restaurant on our next trip to Gaylord!

Truly amazing food! We came on a Saturday about 2 pm. There was no wait, but still most tables were full. There was one server, but it was fast and staff was friendly. Will definitely be coming back everytime we visit up north.

Now I lived in Germany for 15 years and find that this is the closest to having German food I have found in the states.
The loaded spetzle or veal schnitzel is the best. The atmosphere was great. Would have loved hearing alpin music or some kind of folks music from Germany would have given it the final touch but that’s just my opinion. Not every one can stand Alpin music or folks music. Scharde Dass niemanden Deutch sprechen könnte. Aber nicht das mann es sollte. Nur scharde. Ich wünche alle ein gutten tag und bis nächstes mal.

We were passing through on our way back from Mackinac and decided German cuisine sounded perfect to end our evening. We had a large group and we were accommodated well but I would call ahead as the dining area is not huge. I have never had a group of people that were all completely satisfied like we were this evening, as everything was delicious. The rueben balls were crisp and loaded with flavor, pretzels fluffy and salty, even the uniquely named German nachos were so unique I couldn’t stop eating them. Way to go guys! This is a stop on our Mackinac route from now on.

Had a craving for some nice warm pretzels and beer cheese so I went here, based on a friend’s recommendation. No one was behind the bar (where I choose to sit so I wouldn’t take up a table for just one person). After a while a waitress who looked rushed walked past and asked me if I needed a menu. I told her I wanted a Petoskey blueberry crush beer and some warm pretzels and beer cheese. She got the beer right away. About 15 or 20 minutes later I got the pretzels and cheese. The pretzels weren’t warm when I bit into them and the cheese was lukewarm at best. Very disappointing. I wondered if that’s how they serve them … or how long they sat before being brought to me? I was there at 1:30; not during a busy lunch or dinner time. Suggest they serve them warm …. or try to have more staff, if that’s why they weren’t delivered warm.

Great German restaurant with wide variety of beer and German dishes. Decor gives you a feel of old time Germany with a modern twist. We had bratwurst with sauerkraut and side dishes of salad with cherry vinaigrette, German potato salad and pierogies. Delicious food and excellent beer. Highly recommend this establishment!
