Laid-back and local—that’s the vibe at Mary’s. It’s the kind of bar where the regulars all know each other, the bartenders are friendly and fun, and you’re just as likely to find yourself in a game of dice as you are kicking back on the front porch. Live music on Sundays keeps the energy going, and it’s always a good time.
Saw the recent one-star review, and let’s be honest—it’s completely unfair. Showing up with a 10-year-old on a Friday night and expecting a full sit-down dinner? That’s on you, not the bar. They’ve got a grill behind the bar and will cook you up a burger, but Mary’s isn’t trying to be something it’s not. Docking a place one star because you misunderstood what kind of bar it is doesn’t make sense.

Just gotta say we stopped in after the Midland concert and Sherry was closing up and rather than locking the door she opened it up for us. Thank you Sherry we had a great time we appreciate you. Great bartender.

We came to Mary’s after golfing New Berlin Hills. It was a tiny place and there was live music. We sat down thinking we would be served, but a patron mentioned we would need to get the bartenders attention. The patrons seemed local and friendly and having a good time. The bartender was a little frazzled being the only one working and it was busy. We ordered cheeseburgers and tots. We came in around 830pm, so I think we were the only ones eating and she had to call someone to start the grill. Food took awhile but it was understandable and atmosphere was great so didn’t mind. Mary stopped by and chatted for a second, letting us know beers were buy one get one free for New Berlin golfers, which we took advantage of. I had low expectations on food given everything, but the burger was one of the best I’ve had at a bar. It was the perfect smaller portion for me, and it was a handmade thick and juicy. Tots were fried to perfection. Simple and great. Our total ended up being $29 for 4 beers, 2 burgers and 2 orders of tots, incredible value nowadays! Also free popcorn! 100% recommend and will stop by again.

Best little bar. Everyone is friendly and drinks are reasonable. Mary the owner is wonderful. You can tell she cares about her bar. Lots of regulars but newbies are always welcomed and included.

All the positive reviews for this place were the reasons why my 10 year old and I chose the place, but those reviews must have been with different staff on some other days. We arriveed on a Friday evening between 5-7pm to potentially have a cheeseburger and the one lady working the bar was not very friendly nor was she excited about hearing that we were hungry at all. We sat there for awhile waiting for her to attend to us bur we ultimately ended up leaving for a place up the road (Cleveland) that was very friendly and appeared to want our business more. Would not recommend Mary’s Caddyshack and we won’t be back.
