This is not the same place I remember.

Used to go here once a week on Saturdays around 10 years ago with fond memories of the apple fritters containing big chunks of apples and crispy fried bits. In fact, the fritters were still warm from the fryer. I’ve had a lot of apple fritters since and the old Mary Lou’s couldn’t be beat.

Back then, I loved to see all the older folks sitting around giving attention to my baby boy at the time. Always had service with a smile. Sometimes it was hard finding parking since this was the spot to get together for older folks.

Got to visit again on a Saturday. No cars in the parking lot, it was completely empty inside too. Service was meh. I got the apple fritter again, paying double from 10 years ago, and there were hardly any apples and was not freshly made. Sad to see the old Mary Lou’s is gone.

If you just want a donut, it’s fine.

So good!! My in-laws have raved about this place for years. I finally went and got a filled maple donut and wow, so good!! So light and fluffy while also full of flavor. The inside is so cute also with the little bar stools. Will definitely be back for more donuts!!

5/9 I have to give the young lady on duty around 11:45 a shout out for being patient and friendly.

My wife usually gets donuts. I’m not familiar with the set up or the menu. I travel so I get my fix out of state. I had a nice experience!

You can’t go at noon and expect them to have all you want. I like a business that once it’s out you miss out. It means they’re food is freshly made.

The young girl was totally cool explaining what they had left. She did not rush me, and gave me several options.

I ordered a custard, and it was filled to enjoy every bite! My kids knew what they wanted and they were in stock! Great donuts!

If you’re ever in Lafayette, make this a memorable trip and try our donut shop!

No one makes donuts like Mary Lou. They make the best donuts, and I’ve tried a lot of donuts from Walmart and Meijer. I would pick Mary Lou over Krispy Kreme. The food is obviously great. The service was good, and the atmosphere is a small, cozy place with a sweet smell that could house about a dozen people.

I have been a lifelong resident of Lafayette and have Mary Lou donuts through all the owners. I hate to say that these are the worst.
They are sloppy looking, I could never take these to an event. The taste is day old oil and the donuts I bought today tasted like yesterday’s donuts. Lastly, the price has increased and I wasted $8 on a 7 donuts I will not eat. I don’t mind paying a little more for a donut that is delicious.

Each apple fritter is $2.70. You can see how huge it is. It taste good but for those who have tried Walmart’s apple fritters, you will know you have the bite of apple and the 3D shape of Walmart fritters make it more tasty and appealing. These are huge and flat. Taste wise is good but I wish there’s more apply pieces which I taste apple but didn’t get any bites of it.
