Posh Rittenhouse Hotel tearoom offering traditional afternoon tea & sandwiches with a garden view.

This was really excellent afternoon tea. We especially loved the jam, lemon curd and clotted cream with the scones and I loved the Choux filled with pumpkin mouse. Service was excellent and they did a great job with a full gluten free tea. Makes a great treat after hitting up the spa on the 3rd floor.

This tea room is so nice! It’s a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The service is great. The tea sandwiches and desserts are delish. There’s a variety of tea options available. The atmosphere is very elegant. It’s such a nice experience and definitely worth visiting. The Teddy Bear tea at Chriatmas is a sweet thing to do with young kids.

Amazing experience! This was high on my bucket list and the price was well worth it.
I was the first guest to show up for my appointment. There was no one at the entrance, but someone from the hotel quickly noticed I was waiting to be seated and called the servers to assist me.
The ambiance was fantastic. I was looking forward to the live harpist playing, but she was not in that afternoon. However the beautiful classical and instrumental music did not disappoint.
Everything was impecable; exactly what I would expect from a five star hotel.
The food was delicious. Every item was freshly made. I enjoyed the variety of food and the variety in flavors.
The tea selection was also worth mentioning. There’s a great variety and plenty of options for everyone. I’m personally not a tea drinker, so it was great to be able to find a tea more on the fruity side that I enjoyed. I would even buy it if they sold it.
The dining room got crowded about 10 minutes after I sat down, but even then I never felt neglected or forgotten. I dined alone by the way.
I highly recommend this establishment. Yes it’s pricey, but all well worth it if you want to spend a relaxing afternoon or celebrate a special occasion.
Thank you all at Mary Cassatt Tea Room for allowing me to cross off one item off my bucket list.

We went on January 18th for the 12:30 seating. I have gone to a lot of afternoon teas all over the world because I love them. We had a delightful time. The doorman on duty was amazing, and it set the tone for our visit. At first, I was surprised to see that the Mary Cassatt room was not a separate room per se, as it was open to the lobby, but in the end, it didn’t matter. The lady setting everything up and the guy helping her were just lovely. They were professional and friendly. The tables were classically set, with white tableclothes and matching china, and the harp player was just perfect. The tea and the presentation of the sandwiches and sweets were nice and we had a lovely view of the garden. I thought it was a well-done tea. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if we had tea strainers to strain the tea ourselves and if we had been offered milk. But overall, I still rate it 5 stars. A tip is if you are driving in and using the hotel’s valet parking, ask the tearoom to validate your parking ticket as you will get a discounted rate.

Beautiful space, good tea, underwhelmed by the food. Pricey for the experience.

My wife and I were here for her birthday. Not worth $70 pp. Ticketed event sold via OpenTable. Total added on a “convenience fee” and an automatic 20% gratuity. Total for two was $182.70. Then, my wife orders a $15 glass of champagne and another 20% gratuity ($3). Then, they have the nerve to ask for A THIRD gratuity on top of all of it. Rip off. What’s worse, no reasonable accommodations for someone with a seafood allergy. Not worth the price.

I had a delightful afternoon tea experience. While the food was decent, the selection of teas truly stood out—each one flavorful and aromatic. I do wish they had a way to keep the tea warm for a bit longer, as it cooled after about 30 minutes. That said, a minor issue we encountered was promptly and professionally handled, as you would expect from a high-end hotel. I found the price to be well worth it, considering the impeccable presentation, ambiance, and exceptional service. Such a cute place for a family/friend get together or a weekend brunch date.

Inside The Rittenhouse hotel, just off the lobby, is the Mary Cassatt Tea room. Seasonally, there is outdoor seating on a small patio, but we were seated inside on a cooler day. The staff was friendly and attentive while letting us enjoy all the food that was presented. There are a number of different packages available, each building on the next, with inclusions of a glass of bubbles, rosé bubbles, and caviar. They had a lengthy list of available teas, herbal to black, decaffeinated to caffeinated. The tour of treats ranged from sweet to savory with some amazing flavors, like the blue cheese and walnut scone, egg salad with caviar and miniature popsicle. Great experience and delicious treats. Can’t wait to come back!

Best birthday gift from my mom ever! What a great experience. When we walked in, someone was playing a harp, which made the atmosphere even fancier than it already was. Mary took excellent care of us. I highly recommend this place for celebrating a special occasion. You will feel like royalty. The tea choices were excellent and the food was so intricate and delicious. I will be telling all my friends about this place.
