I had the very berry cheesecake nachos. Off the hook! The staff is always on point and very polite. May be a little bit of a jam getting in due to a smaller parking lot, but they then come to you in line and take your order.

My previous review, still listed below, is no longer true. We’ve received nothing but exceptional service and fully mixed flurries since then.
Marv’s Dairy Dan is an awesome business, and everyone is working super hard to provide fast and efficient service. Everyone I have interacted with has always been friendly, courteous, and appreciative of our business.
Update – June 30, 2023
What happened to Dairy Dan?
My wife and I are two of your biggest fans; tonight, that changed.
I ordered a Heath Flurry with whipped cream, and my wife ordered a Banana Split Flurry, with chocolate ice cream, light peanuts, and whipped cream.
I always ask to add a $5 tip to the bill. I understand they’re working hard and they deserve a good tip.
We decided to eat outside on one of their park benches. I got a third of the way through my flurry and had not yet found a single piece of Heath candy bar. Nothing but soft serve ice cream.
I went back and talked with the employee who made mine and asked her if there was any Heath in my flurry. She said they put the ice cream on the sides so it would mix up better. I replied I’m 1/3 of the way through my flurry and hadn’t found a single piece of Heath yet. She said she put it on there. She didn’t offer to remedy the situation so I just walked away.
After eating more plain vanilla, I was able to mix the ice cream with the plastic spoon and I finally dug up some of the Heath bar. It was all at the bottom and not mixed at all.
I don’t want to seem too picky, but what I got was a cup full of soft serve ice cream with Heath candy bar crumbles at the bottom. I had to mix it up and make what was left of my ice cream into a flurry.
My wife ended up throwing out her banana split flurry because it was just a soft serve chocolate ice cream. It was full of just chopped peanuts and she couldn’t find any banana split in her flurry. We’ll never know if it was at the bottom. Her plastic spoon wasn’t strong enough to be mixing up the flurry, because she only ate half of it.
This seems like it might be an issue with training. It was obvious that none of the fillings had been mixed into our ice creams, especially Heath candy bar mixed up with vanilla ice cream. She should have recognized that instead of just handing us incompletely mixed ice creams. In the past, an error would’ve been fixed when we brought it to them.
I had hoped my $5 tip given before the ice creams were made would have gotten me a better product.

The drive-thru is super efficient because they have employees that will take your order while you’re waiting to pull around so that by the time you get to the pickup window, you’ve paid for your ice cream and you just simply have to wait for it to come out the window. Sometimes you pay at the window other times you pay while in line.
They never ask for tips so please tell them to add $5 to the bill.

Cute ice cream place with lots of options.
Drove pretty far to come here and try the watermelon dole whip and wasn’t disappointed! I got mine swirled with vanilla. The line in the drive thru seems long, but both times I’ve been here, someone comes to your car to take your order and take your payment so you’re not actually in like the whole time.
They also have a really good (and cute, might I add!) cotton candy milkshake.
There is another dairy dan a mile away (not sure what’s up with that) and their menus are different. The dole whip is at this location though!

Visit Michigan every summer to see my grandma and eat their ice cream almost every day for a month lol! Me and my family have been eating their ice cream every summer for many many years now and it never disappoints we look forward to eating ice cream every summer and we always go to dairy Dan they have so many ice cream options to choose from and all are so delicious whether you’re getting a cone or a flurry everything there is so delicious and anything you want they can make. A family favorite !!

Their ice cream seems to be made with milk and not watered down. Anytime I’m in Westland, I stop there. They have cool specialty kid ice cream concoctions as well.
