Mine and my husband’s first time going to Marvin’s and it was Awesome! The food was absolutely delicious with huge variety. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. We paid $27.99 for two bars and two teas. You can’t drive through a driveway for that price. Thank all the owners and employees for making our first experience wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Chicken and cat fish were the mains, but good lawd there were dozens of sides! So I skipped the mains (had a nibble from my daughters plate, yummy!) and went straight in for the sweet potatoes, collard greens, mac & cheese, corn bread stuffing and hush puppies! Had to get another plate to enjoy the full & deliciously appointed salad bar! They also had a bevy of desserts which I was just too stuffed to even try!
Have I mentioned that (at the time of this review) the buffet was all of $9?! Nine whole dollars! I don’t know how they do it, but bless ‘em!!
The atmosphere is cafeteria chic and it’s very clean, other than that I don’t think anyone goes there for the decor.
Love the staff. Friendly, helpful and attentive!

This was the best food we had all weekend while staying in Fayetteville. That includes our fancy lunch at Miss Mary Bobos. I’m not supposed to say that but that’s what our entire group thought. It was definitely a great value. And the food was flavorful and delicious. It was so good that we came back again to celebrate a victory at the Jack.

2 stars so I won’t be a total jerk. The only thing good here was the friends I came with. The buffet was trashed, empty and dirty 6:15 on a Friday eve. Yuck! Never again. Makes my stomach twirl thinking about it.

If you go here don’t order anything from the menu, just take the buffet. We had 2 of our party take the buffet and 3 ordered from the menu. We didn’t get any food ordered from the menu for at least an hour. The 2 who ordered the buffet were finished eating before we got any food. Half of the items on the plate were identical to what was on the buffet. The kitchen manager came out and said that they were mostly a buffet and that was their priority in the kitchen. It wasn’t that busy and we only ordered a burger, a club sandwich and a country fried steak ( which was a frozen product and was badly overcooked and salty). I’ve managed restaurants and I was surprised by how arrogant the kitchen manager was. I don’t recommend eating here. Apparently the person who replied to my review is the same arrogant person I spoke with in the restaurant. I never complained about the server or the service. In fact I told the cashier that she was working her tail off and made sure that she received a $17.00 tip on a $50 order. The country fried steak is not hand made or breaded in the restaurant. It is a frozen product that is deep fried. The mashed potatoes are instant. The green beans are canned. The Mac and cheese is a pre-made product that is heated in the oven. I don’t agree with the time they claim. Everyone at our table agreed that the food was too salty. I reiterate that there is no excuse for the food we ordered taking as long as it did. They continue to try and justify it and blame the customer. My friends and I will definitely never eat there again!

Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Good variety of food on the buffet. Good prices too. If you like country style food I suggest you give Marvin’s Family Restaurant a try. We were there on a Friday afternoon. They had fried chicken, northern beans, ribs, Mac and cheese, meat loaf, catfish, hush puppies, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn bread and rolls. A large salad bar and dessert bar. Ice cream, peach cobbler, and apple cobbler.

Been eating at this place for a couple years. Here lately, the Mac and cheese, turnip greens, mashed potatoes ( I’ll stop there) have no seasonings – no flavor. What happened? Chicken is still delicious, along with the fish, as well. It’s the sides that have changed.
