SF East Bay. Definitely one of our go-to restaurants! When they first opened, I think we ate there almost every week to try everything on the menu! I did find my favorite dish already & more often than not order the kitsune with squid tempura.

This one’s better than the Berkeley location but not as good as the Oahu, Hawaii location. The noodles are good. I like the beef dashi, great soup, but you need to like sweet meat. My party had the tonkotsu, which was good but tasted different than real ramen tonkotsu places. Pegasus as different recipe.

I’ve been to other locations before and this one is just as good! Their udon noodles are so delicious and super fresh – they were even cutting the dough and cooking the noodles right there while we were waiting in line. They have just the right chewy texture! I always get the nikutama because I love the flavor of the beef and the egg is so good mixed in with the noodles and beef. I also always have to get their tamagoyaki tempura since that’s so unique and it’s just the right sweetness and saltiness! They also have a nice outdoor seating area.

I have been looking for an Udon place for a few years and my Japanese expat coworker found this. It was a great success, especially the first time I went there. The second time the Tempura was really disappointing, it really tasted like it had been sitting under thebhaleat lamp for a long time. I will however return again because the Udon was really good. Take the large bowl it’s worth it. The place is really noisy and it’s not easy to speak to somebody just across the table. The ordering process is simple and straightforward, you choose the Udon soup, then you are given a choice of free toppings, then you can pick up some tempura from under the heat lamps.

Was better than the SF location. Delicious dashi broth and kitsune, and there was a good amount of soup. Tempura could’ve been more seasoned though.

If you like udon ramen, Marugame Udon is your best bet. Eat and Go, surprisingly delicious – our pit stop from Sacramento to San Jose.

Broth needs to be more hot and rice not soggy. By the time we sat down, the broth was just warm and it makes sense when it’s not steaming when they give you your bowl. I don’t recall this being a shortcoming in Waikiki but do think it happens at the SF Stonestown location. The broth needs to be piping hot since it takes time to grab your tempura item, checkout with the cashier and get your utensils, cups before sitting down. The rice was surprising hot but yet soggy. Noticed other reviews had similar experience. Hope this feedback gets addressed and improvements made.

When there group of 9 (5 adults and 4 kids) on Friday (after Thanksgiving) for lunch. There is line but not crazy long as the pictures. We probably waited 30 mins. I like the setup and show noodle made fresh. Noodle is order to made like fast food cafeteria style.

This place is buzzing. Fast line, friendly service and fresh food. The Udon noodles are very good, the broth in the soups yummy and the tempura a nice side to add. We also got the chicken katsu with the sesame sauce on it. This was a little too much and salty for my taste. Next time I would stick with the ramen and tempura
