Beautiful, small, self-service sushi place in Glenview.
The shumai, 2 sushi rolls and poke bowl ( no drinks) cost us a little over $50. It was very flavourful and enjoyable, but the portions were fairly small and just enough for the two of us. For a self serve place – it was expensive.

The restaurant was very clean. Very easy to order on a tablet at the counter. Delicious food. I ordered the spring roll and crazy roll sushi. Service was fast and efficient. Everyone was friendly and kind.

We were searching for a poke bowl nearby and found this super cute little gem. It’s tucked away in a small plaza with plenty of parking. We wanted to eat inside but decided to order to-go so we could take home whatever we didn’t finish. The interior is very pretty and cozy, with a warm atmosphere and charming aesthetics.
For takeout orders, you don’t tell the person behind the counter; instead, you use a self-serve kiosk, which was easy to operate. There were so many choices, and we created our own poke bowls. The prices are very reasonable. The staff was very nice and welcoming.
We weren’t sure if we could sit there to eat or if the seating was for dine-in only. But we sat down and ate, and the food was super fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back.

We come to Maru for our monthly sushi outing with our 3-year old daughter. The chef delivers such well-executed sushi rolls – they rival what you can get in the city. Our favorites are the Glen and the Maru rolls. Our daughter has a cucumber/avocado roll (which they cut smaller to be kid-friendly) or a poke bowl.
Allie is at the front of the house on the weekends and makes us feel like family every time we walk in. Maru is welcoming and family-friendly, and a great place to introduce kids to sushi.

Everything at Maru is exceptional!! The service, quality of the food, the hospitality, vibes, and ambience—all of it was on point. My server was super sweet and made sure I had everything I needed, and even the owner checked in on me to ensure that my meal was good. I got the Super Bowl and a couple of their rolls like the Spider Roll and Red Dragon, and everything tasted fresh and delicious!! I had been driving all day from the north side of Chicago so I’m not a Glenview local, but the trip was absolutely worth it. Thank you again for a wonderful visit and I hope everyone is doing well!!!

We were so excited to have found this new place for yummy sushi poke bowl! We adore that modernized look of the restaurant and there are a lot of variety of poke bowls to choose from. My boys like the mushroom and California rolls sushi while I enjoyed the spicy hot fish poke bowl a lot. The staff and owner were super friendly and nice. The place was stylish, neat and clean. The sashimi was fresh and delicious! The food was served fast and the price was reasonable too. We are definitely coming back!
