I eat out on my own a lot and it’s hit or miss if the waitress is kind to me or able to hide the fact they are frustrated they have a 1 person table. But that was not the case here. I was welcomed and the service was great I wish I would have got the servers name to shout her out. I got the chicken glazed hibachi meal and it did not disappoint! The best hibachi I have ever encountered. I also ordered Cali Tempura and was very impressed. Everything melted in my mouth. Delectable I should say. I will be returning. The best sushi experience in Lansing this far. 10/10

Got a to go order. Staff was friendly and personable. Service was quick. The ex-girlfriend was so good with the perfect amount of crunch and spice!! Next time we’ll have to sit. The atmosphere is very welcoming.

Tonight was my first time here in a very long time. (I moved out of state and only recently got back.) Happy to be back in Michigan so I can patronize this amazing business again! The food was outstanding. The tea was exquisite. The interior design, tableware and service was better than I remember. A divine experience for sure. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars across the board is because of the number of birthday parties in the house during my visit. Not the restaurants fault of course but I was hoping for a more low key visit. Next time maybe. I’ll definitely be back regardless. The food and excellent service fed my soul.

A great and delicious modern take on Japanese cuisine. They have lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. The food is always fresh and tasty. Perfect for a date night, as it’s upscale. I always love going to Maru!

The food and service was SO tasty and beautifully done! My sister and I got some rolls off the menu and then a chef special that was created on-the-spot….FABULOUS!! Our server Yaz was the BEST!! She rocks y’all! See the pics of our food choices We got extra food for Leftovers/ varieties Two of our dishes aren’t listed…our hot app and a Papa something roll with eel sauce.

We decided to take advantage of the nice evening and have “Sushi Night With Grandpa” with the grandson who is in from out of town for his summer visit. He really enjoyed the California roll and I enjoyed the tuna sashimi and nigiri. Was able to get immediate seating. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. The Lake Lansing road noise wasn’t intrusive. Didn’t have to speak loud to hear over the traffic.

The food was delicious. Service was spot on, and the place was very clean. Low light in the bathrooms. Would be nicer if it was a tad brighter for older people to see better. The ex-girlfriend roll was amazing! Also, the crouching tiger roll was superb.

Went here while on a trip and enjoyed the unique menu options and atmosphere. Waiter was probably just new but no problems worth mentioning.
