One of the worst sushi ever. The fish is fishy and not fresh, the texture is horrible. The crispy crab salad on top of the rolls are not crunchy, I am sure that they have cooked and left them outside for a long time. They are oily and taste like the bread crumbs mix with crab salad and oil. DO NOT TRY!!!

I’ve been a regular at Maru for 13 years and can confidently say they are the BEST sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to! I’m no longer living in WL and have tried many other restaurants in the hopes that I can find something just as good as Maru. My attempts have failed (not that I’m mad about it), so I will often come back to town JUST to eat at Maru. I’ve never been disappointed. The fish is always fresh, the sushi rolls delicious and very well priced, plus the service is amazing! We order the Ahi Tower, Sunday Morning Roll, and Playgirl Roll each and every time, but enjoy trying a new roll or two each visit as well! My absolute favorite restaurant of all time. <3

Visited Maru Sush on N Chauncy this weekend for lunch and was very surprised in a good way. The food was great but the atmosphere was really needing some love and care. The walls need painted and patched and in general the decor and ambiance could be much better.
The Tuna Tataki Appetizer was good. The tuna was flavorful but the sauce seemed to lack a punch that would have really made this dish stand out as amazing. I gotta sat that the presentation fire tho!
We ordered the Endless Summer Roll and the Sunday Morning Roll. Both were very good and I highly recommend. Sushi is a tough one to recommend because individual’s taste for rolls differ so much but there should be something here that you like and I recommend going and trying to find it.

These guys make huge variety of quality sushi with options that even the sushi-hater should enjoy.
We’ve come here a few times and enjoyed many of their custom rolls you won’t find anywhere else. I haven’t found anything here I don’t like, and if you don’t like sushi, the hibachi plates are great.
Prices are kind of high, especially for poor college students being this close to campus.

Maru Sushi was a great dining experience! The sushi rolls we ordered were all delicious, and the beef bulgogi was a standout dish. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Overall, we had a great time and we would definitely recommend Maru Sushi to others looking for tasty and fresh sushi. It’s about 13$ a roll. So a little pricey if you eat a lot like me.

Popped in here during a work day for lunch with some friends. We were seated right away at a freshly cleaned table. The staff here are friendly, answer questions, give suggestions, and attentive.
The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered from the sushi menu. Their menu is quite extensive and they have all kinds of combinations they’ve created to meet a variety of tastes. Not all are the traditional sushi rolls, which I think can be fun to try a fusion of flavors. I think the appetizers are a bit overpriced for the serving size, so next time I would opt for another roll over an appetizer.
They don’t rush you through your meal and you can add more to your meal as you go along.
Our bill did get mixed up with someone else’s, so if you go during the lunchtime rush hour, make sure you’ve got the right bill before you pay.
