Love and enjoy the food and atmosphere. The breakfast and lunch are out of this world.

Took a roustabout crew and a supv. That was working for me at Catarina into Carrizo to buy them lunch. Had to wait about 10 min. or so for the waitress to finish her conversation with her friends at another table to get service. She brought us canned drinks with no ice, didn’t get our ice until half way through our meal. This was on Saturday about 1:00 pm. Then as we were trying to order lunch, she told us we couldn’t order lunch on Saturday, only breakfast. So don’t go there on Saturday expecting lunch I guess. What we were allowed to eat was actually pretty good.

Love the bean & cheese from here, although the last time I ordered the cheese was old. Had a really bad smell almost like feet… I noticed it when I got to work so it was to late to ask for a refund or a different taco.

As I sat there yet once again pondering isn’t there a decent place to eat Mexican in carrizo… Food was bland over priced for small portions.
After trying all Mexican restaurants in town Miguelitos is so far the most decent one

I decided to try “Martita’s Cocina” a couple of times, my first time I was hoping for some authentic and flavorful Mexican food, but unfortunately, I left feeling pretty unsatisfied by the taste. Not a bad taste, but not the best.
First off, the service was amazing that’s 6 stars if possible. Our waitress was polite. The atmosphere was also a bit bland – like some diners out there.
Portion sizes were decent, but that doesn’t make up for the lack of quality and taste, other occasions the taste was a lot better specially the “Caldo de Res”.
“You won’t find endless choices here, but this restaurant stands out as a consistently good option.”

The reason I put 4 stars is that the people that run the restaurant are very, very nice in not snobby keeping the place as clean and organized as they can, along with serving the food at a decent time frame. The food is Tex-Mex, along with some American Made food that is good. Wish they could be open on at least on Friday Nights because they are not open in the evenings and only open til a certain time. A lot of Tex-Mex restaurants are only open at certain times in our area and also all the way through Uvalde. Covid is over and needs to extend some more hours. God Bless Ya’ll!

This was the second time, I had my husband pick up lunch from here. The first time the food was good despite the styrofoam containers being melted from sitting under the heat lamps (my husband was late to pick the order up so I’m accepting the blame for that) but I had ordered (and paid for) drinks, that wasn’t given to my husband when he picked up the food. I messaged and tried calling to see about picking up the drinks or getting compensated for them…..and Nothing….never could get in touch with them and never heard anything from them, and full amount was charged to my card.
Today I thought we would try lunch again cause after all the food was good. We actually received our entire order this time. Got the food home and was almost finished eating when my husband pulls a hair that obviously didn’t belong to him out from under his last bites of enchilada. I work at a food establishment and I understand that stuff happens but really….that’s why we wear hair nets. Upon inspection of the receipt I notice a convenience fee of $1.75, which I’m a bit confused on, unless my plate was considered a specialty order because instead of rice, I asked for another spoon of beans in replacement. Don’t get me wrong, I have full knowledge of business and I understand the concept of overhead and prices but seriously? Replacing a spoonful of rice with a spoonful of beans is not difficult and does not effect profitability. Unless the convenience fee is because it’s a carry-out order but (and I apologize if I’m wrong here) its not a dine in establishment, right? So every order is a carry-out order. Anyways, third time will not be the charm for us because after 2 sub-par attempts, we won’t go back.

Martita’s is one of my go to restaurants here in Carrizo Springs. The restaurant atmosphere is pleasant. The food is always delicious, fills me up, and affordable! The staff is nice and seem happy. There are chairs for babies/toddlers. There is handicap accessible seating. There is one restroom. I usually go for the breakfast plates/tacos, and for the lunch plates con salsa. Highly Recommend!
