We would give this place 10 stars if we could! Amazing, down home cooking with some of the best fried chicken in the south! We had chicken, wings for me, dark meat for hubs. Sides were cheese grits, string beans, collards, slaw and okra corn and tomatoes. Delicious corn muffins came to the table with our drinks. Drink choices are sweet and unsweetened tea, lemonade and water. Somehow we got lucky and hit on a rare slow day, so no wait for a seat right at noon. We drove two hours to give this place a try after reading rave reviews online. I can easily say we would make the trip again, just for the remarkable chicken!

Good vibes, location, and food. Had the Fried chicken with three sides. Restaurant has shorter hours on Sunday but we were seated fairly quickly. Food came out fast and tasted great. Sides were good as well and overall good portion. Most of the people around us were taking the leftovers to go, so I would say the portions are on the more generous side.
Chickens were cooked well, and sides with cornbread were good as well. Staffs were very nice and helpful. Parking available.

We had seen an article about Martin’s being a great meat and three. We were on our way home from the beach so we swung by for lunch. It was some of the best fried chicken I have eaten at a restaurant. It was cooked crispy but moist on the inside. The cornbread muffins were hot and delicious with butter. Served with three sides, it was worth stopping in for!

“Insults Served Fresher Than Food”
This place is a joke. Our server actually called my family “pissy” — loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. When we told the manager, she shrugged it off like it didn’t matter. That tells you everything about how this place is run.
We asked a simple question about desserts (to decide on drinks), and the server completely lost it. Snapping, muttering, slamming around, acting like we were the problem. She clearly didn’t want to work, and made sure everyone knew it.
We left, and at the next restaurant, our new server overheard us and said she’d had the same terrible experience at this Martin’s. That means this isn’t a one-off — it’s a pattern.
Rude staff. Spineless management. Zero hospitality.
If rudeness was on the menu, Martin’s would be five stars. But since it’s supposed to be food and service? This place doesn’t even deserve to be open.
Stay far, far away.
TL;DR: Worst service ever. Staff insults customers, management doesn’t care. Don’t waste your money.

Service was awesome, food was even better. Big portions. Mondays with dressing will keep me coming back, chasing flavors and memories of my Granny’s house!

Montgomery institution, meat and three with great sweet tea and cornbread. Food is great, service is good. The downside I experience is that this isn’t somewhere to go for a fast bite, which isn’t really a surprise. That and it has that ma and pop spot dust appeal. Everything is a little slow. They are always full and even the credit card machine is slow. I guess the moral of the story is that good things are worth waiting for. Get some of their fried chicken.

The food was good but could use a bit more seasoning as it was too bland for my taste buds. The quantity was very plentiful. The tea and lemonade both were good. The place had its regulars as the waitresses knew many of the customers name.

Great food and service. I really enjoyed the fried chicken! Crispy and not too greasy. The vegetables were cooked well with just the right amount of seasoning. Now any meat and three has some greasy veggies but these were just right. Oh the cornbread was another hit. It was Not sweet like jiffy mix.

Service and food were excellent. The staff always so friendly and accommodating. It was just too cold in there especially with a lot of older people in there. We ate with our coats on. Everything else was 10/10 and the sweet potato pie is the best I’ve ever had.
