What a great way to end our Cleveland trip! The food was DELICIOUS and so fresh! Everything truly was scratch-made. I had the potato crispies with an in-house sausage patty, bacon, & gravy. The sunshine sauce is SO GOOD! My husband had the Agnes sandwich and loved it. The service was speedy and friendly. The atmosphere was top notch as they were playing 90s r&b. Definitely worth a stop. We will be back the next time we are in town!

Martha on the Fly is a small, counter-service spot specializing in egg sandwiches and hoagies, with a few sit-down items like potato crispies and cornmeal fries. They serve Guardian Coffee and also offer baked goods, including pies, cinnamon rolls, and small donuts.
I ordered the Shirley, made with house-made all-beef bologna, onions, and tomato jam. The flavors were excellent, and the in-house bread was notably soft and well made. My partner had the Pearl, which featured a mushroom sausage patty and avocado spread, served on the same impressively soft bread.
The cornmeal fries, especially paired with the sunshine sauce and maple syrup, were a standout. The space itself is small—about four seats at the counter with limited standing room—but it felt comfortable rather than crowded. The staff were friendly and genuinely conversational. It was the kind of place I wished had existed when I lived in Cleveland.

Delicious and pretty quick service! Ordered The Doris (sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich) and Karleen’s cornmeal fries with sunshine sauce. Everything was delicious and I definitely want to go back to try other sandwiches! My friend orders the cinnamon roll, which was also delicious! Love the orange zest in the frosting!

Absolutely delicious!! You can tell every item (aside from the cheese) is done in-house! They smoke their own bacon, make the buns (think milk bread), Martha sauce (similar but better than hollandaise)… Every element is perfection! No wonder they are award winning!! And the service… You can tell they have a heart for service!
I only wish I had visited sooner!!

Wonderful breakfast! Went on a tuesday morning, busy with standing room only. It was easy to order and an expansive vegetarian and allergen friendly menu. Pricey upon purchase but worth it with the first bite. Got three different types of sandwiches and the cornmeal fries with smiley sauce and syrup. Soft brioche buns, fresh fried eggs, melty cheese. Ordered a build your own with the thickest cut bacon I’ve seen on a breakfast sandwich and tomato jam. Absolutely will go again and recommend to all

Awesome breakfast spot! Everything we tried was delicious — the potato crispies were perfectly crunchy, the breakfast sandwich was stacked with flavor, and the cake donuts with apple butter were out of this world. The cornmeal fries were such a fun surprise too. Great food, friendly service, and a really cool vibe. Highly recommend Martha on the Fly! Marissa was great!

Martha on the Fly is an absolute gem and a must-stop if you’re anywhere near downtown Cleveland.
I ordered the Shirley and my friend had the Doris, and honestly, no notes. The Shirley was perfection, a signature egg patty, melty American cheese, thick-cut house-made all-beef bologna (yes, bologna, trust me), caramelized onions, tomato jam, and their house sunshine sauce. Every bite was rich, savory, and comforting in the best way.
The Doris was just as good, with a fried egg, American cheese, a fresh-ground pork sausage smash patty, and that same sunshine sauce. It’s simple on paper but incredibly well executed.
We also split a Potato Crispy, basically a giant skillet latke or hash brown. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and topped with sunshine sauce and a local hot sauce. Don’t skip it.
The space is tiny, in the best way, just four counter seats and standing room, which adds to the charm. Alicia was running the front and she was fantastic. She was warm, welcoming, and took the time to chat with us about what to do during our visit to Cleveland, which really made the experience feel special.
Amazing food, genuine hospitality, and a small space that delivers big. We can’t wait to come back.

Wonderful breakfast at a tiny little spot in Cleveland. Got the Doris with tomato jam, their pie, and some OJ. Tasty as all heck and comfier than thick pajamas and hot cocoa on a winter day. The ambiance is lovely too (they had on Powerpuff Girls clips on a small rinky dink TV in the corner and I loved it). 5/5 experience.
Came up from Philly for a concert and decided to try out this spot before leaving. Glad I did. These peeps know how to make a breakfast right,
