I was recommended to go here by a local when I was playing at a local card shop. And I will be honest. This is one of the best local places I’ve ever eaten at with a great local menu. Try to get there before 11:30 because it does fill up quick. I had a lunch special that cost me $11.99. it consisted of a hamburger steak, pinto beans and fried squash which were all exceptional. The chocolate cake was phenomenal as well. I ended up paying $14 without a tip due to taxes and card fees and for that meal I feel like I definitely got my money’s worth. Everything was done to perfection like a small town place should do and reminded me of home cooking. The server staff was friendly and inviting. Everyone seemed to be chipping in the back to help out and the place was exceptionally clean. I definitely want to go back and try the breakfast menu, but I am 100% certain it’ll be exceptional food. If you’re in the area and you want a quick bite to eat, this is the place to go. Also, the sweet tea was amazing

I’ve tried many times to eat at this place, and between the sporadic hours that change without warning and local crowds, I’ve only been successful about half the time. This time I drove 30 minutes to get there only to find no place to park, and no place to sit inside. Since it was too cold to eat outside, I tried to place a “to go” order and never got waited on. With their “truck stop” atmosphere I don’t expect them to take reservations but it wouldn’t matter, they don’t answer their phone anyway. (I’ve tried calling ahead to see if they were open.) So if you decide to chance it, be warned, you’ll probably leave hungry! Guess that’s why they have a grizzly bear by the front door.

Food was served fast, fresh, and in a friendly manner. I had a cheeseburger and the meat was so fresh. I said OMG.

Expect to see someone ya know, lol. Small town breakfast and lunch watering hole with your typical menu. Daily lunch specials. Food is pretty good. I did get forgotten about with my order as it got made and put out but never brought out to me until I asked about it, which by then was cold, but most likely a 1 time mistake. Swing by if you want to see your kinfolk and catch up on the small town gossip

Loved this little restaurant out in the country. Had a good country breakfast at a reasonable price. Enjoyed watching the locals greet each other , including a group of women who apparently gather regularly to play cards. Don’t see many restaurants like this any more. A real pleasure!!

What a wonderful hidden gem this is. We’ve lived in the area for 42 years and just learned of this place a couple of weeks ago. Open for breakfast and lunch, this is the real authentic country diner/de facto community center for the Lake Claiborne area. Great country style food, reasonable prices, and a relaxed everybody-knows-everybody atmosphere made for a delightful morning get-away breakfast. Really enjoyed it!
