The ambiance and decor here makes for such a nice place to gather and come in from the weather! Unfortunately the good is HORRIFIC at “best”. .. Was hoping to find a good place for Chinese food on the East end of town closer to home so we stopped in. Our order was simple.. crab puffs and chicken egg foo yung. Puffs came out (small but) hot and fresh so I was excited _ until I dropped one in my mouth.. I’m not new to CP every restaurant has their own recipe but I do not enjoy eating food that’s been in the refrigerator waaaay to looong and tastes like it’s on the down side because OLD cream cheese flavour is MEH! As for the chicken egg foo yung EXTREMELY disappointed there as well.. my S.O. pointed out to me that their’s obviously didn’t have onions, celery or bean sprouts but I thought they looked really good (and were HUGE_ considering every place out there is still PANDEM’ING_ cutting quality quantity and RAISING prices on everything tsk! tsk! tsk! people)so I was ready to dig in .. but was greeted with something quite BLAND and FLAVORLESS OUCH! STAY AWAY from the chicken egg foo yung as there WASN’T any chicken in it whatsoever.. I spent my time trying to figure out WHAT mystery ingredient they substituted the chicken for.. uhmm I’ll get back to you on that after I do my homework .. I’m maddd faces on the food here.. but the people are really nice attentive and friendly and this is a really clean place and the welcome in is warm and friendly..

I’m quite pleasantly surprised by Mar’s Chinese Cuisine. A lot of the Chinese places around town can get pretty expensive, and some others have way smaller serving sizes. And if somehow they remain affordable and with large serving sizes, the places can be sketchy. However, Mar’s is pretty clean. They don’t have the most to offer out of every Chinese restaurant out there, but what they have is pretty tasty. They make good soups, and they have some good salt and pepper meat selections (would highly recommend either the calamari or the pork).

Excellent Chinese food. Portions are huge “Togo” other places put the food inside take out Chinese carton NOT here. We had the deluxe chow main combination of meat and shrimp. Kung pow chicken and Mongolian beef. Everything was tasty. They have a online ordering system through Menufy and you can pay and order at the same time. If you live nearby must try.

Good food And consistent quality. Very generic Chinese food. I ordered the mushroom delight and Szechuan beef. Everything tasted great but as I said it’s very generic and nothing special. Staff was not very friendly but some people like to be ignored…

We have been going to Mars for a long time. I just needed to share how much I love this place. The food is fresh, high quality and such amazing flavor. My favorite dish is the kung pao beef with a little extra beef. So so good! We just ordered some tonight and I just needed to share how yummy the whole meal was. We also got deluxe fried rice, crab puffs, bbq pork chow mein and sweet sour chicken. All so good! Thank you Mars family!

Been going here for at least 10 years was the place I would take the in-laws to eat at when they were in town from the coast. Mars was known for scratch made high quality fresh Chinese food. It was ran by the owners and they really cared about food quality and freshness but unfortunately has really gone downhill last couple of years. Bought $80 worth of food and the purple onions they used were mushy and inedible, the rice Noodles in the sesame beef were really old and very stale small pieces. I don’t mind them raising prices but keep the food quality high!

Amazing service. When asked if Thai tea could use coconut crème instead of dairy they were more than accommodating. Food was excellent. Everything homemade including chili oil (which was also extremely flavorful) 10/10 amazing tucked away hidden gem

I’ve been eating here since they moved in after batcave moved out (20 years?). The food is good.

Everybody says Mars Chinese food is fabulous. I just tried it today, it’s not bad food considering it’s a cafe not a restaurant. Almost every place you go for Chinese food The combination plates usually consist of 4 items. Not here only 3. The plates are extremely small for an average price of $15 a plate. Sorry everyone not impressed with this place, although I will say, employee was pleasant and the place was very clean, back to Battleground for me.
