The cheesecakes are normally phenomenal, but their catering and cheesecake this Thanksgiving was very underwhelming. The carrots looked like mini sweet potato fries and don’t get me started on the texture and taste, the ham was half fat and the Reese’s cheesecake was a plain cheesecake with chocolate drizzle and about 6 Reese’s crumbled on top.
Edit: The carrots looked like that BEFORE reheating. Extra pieces of ham would have been an excellent choice to compensate for the lack of meat provided. As for the cheesecake it was good, just not the norm we usually receive. One of us will contact you this week as yes, I was part of a group that ordered your catering for Thanksgiving.

At Marr’s Café, last July, I ordered a New York–style cheesecake for my daughter’s birthday, and then again in August, I ordered cheesecake bites (traditional cheesecake base topped with fresh strawberry and the chocolate lovers) at her wedding reception.
The New York–style cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had.
The cheesecake bites for the wedding reception were also beautifully presented and were very well received by our guests.
Michael at Mars Café was excellent to communicate with, and I am truly glad that we chose Marr’s Café for the wedding reception dessert.

Ordered a pumpkin cheesecake for my Thanksgiving dinner and it was the most heavenly thing I have ever eaten. Definitely made me the talk if the dinner! Will definitely be ordering again!

Super small portions (1/8 cup of chicken is a joke– saw in another review that’s the size– I would feed a toddler that much) for super high prices. For the Great Value products used, they could definitely afford to add more on the meals…. especially since they’re focused on catering orders (making $$$), not the students. I would expect more when the college supports them via weeks of free lunches for students and a place to set up shop.
Food is mediocre. Potato wedges are usually half great, half undercooked and slightly hard.
Vegetarian options are: cheese quesadilla. That’s it. A tortilla and cheese for almost $10.

The $10 deal at the Café could be a good value, but the portions simply don’t match the price. I spend a lot of time studying at the Akron Wayne campus and have definitely noticed an increase in prices alongside a noticeable decrease in both portion size and quality.
Today, I ordered a chicken bacon ranch grilled cheese with garlic bread. The garlic bread amounted to two pieces that were barely larger than Ritz crackers. The sandwich itself had a single slice of bacon (cut in half to appear as two pieces), what I’d describe as only a few crumbs of chicken that was barely enough for two bite-sized pieces, and a single slice of cheese that wasn’t even present in every bite.
Overall, I would strongly not recommend based on the current portion size and value.

This is the best kept secret in Wayne County! Had a retirement lunch for a faculty member, and Michael and Rachel outdid themselves with the delicious cake in blue and gold! OH! That icing she has created is perfect – not too sweet and so creamy. We also enjoyed their chicken wraps and their attentiveness to every need. Thank you for helping with this special day!

My husband and I secured MARR’s Café for a private cocktail type reception/plated dinner for our wedding (roughly 60 people). From the very beginning communication was FANTASTIC!
Coordinating a reception (especially on short notice) is no easy task. MARR’s made this part of the process seamless! In preparation, MARR’s helped us coordinate our menu, offered suggestions & expertise, and came prepared with options and extras for us. The food was YUMMY! I use that term because the food was actually DELICIOUS…not good…not ok…YUMMY & DELICIOUS! Several of our guests complimented the food as well and even took to-go plates home with them! MARR’s was conscious and respectful of vegetarian necessities and child plate options as well. MARR’s arrived to our event on time and were prepared & ready to go. Service was beyond professional. I will 100% use MARR’s for events in the future and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who is planning a private event!
