Great little coney located in the heart of downtown Howell, MI, right off Grand River Ave! Street parking available, or a short walk to a parking lot is also available! Small venue, but big tastes inside! Food is hot, fresh and well prepared with generous portions. Staff is fast and friendly! Stop by for a nice meal in a family friendly atmosphere!

It’s SAD when you have to change a five star review because of service ..it TRULY can make or break a dining experience!!!!
We went in today for breakfast,
(my husband wanted to go to another place, but I wanted to go to Mark’s!) What a HUGE mistake and MASSIVE disappointment!!
We recognized our server and said, “I remember you from our last visit” she replied ” I am here everyday”…. we ordered and waited..and waited…and waited…and WAITED.. in fact, we made a text to someone when we ordered (so we KNEW what time we got there and also what time we ordered, as he just told his friend we wouldn’t be long and on our way after we left)
Not ONCE DID OUR SERVER ACKNOWLEDGE THE LENGTH OF TIME WHICH AT
40 MINUTES… that’s Poor service.. its PART OF THE SERVICE EXPERIENCE you expect “especially in a small town local place”
I asked “is our breakfast coming” she snapped
” we only have one cook”, looked at the kitchen and said ” there’s one more ahead of you”.. no apologies..nothing… we UNDERSTAND IT’S A SMALL PLACE, WE GET BEING BUSY….BUT COULD YOU AT LEAST SAY ” I am sorry for the wait” ?
When she dropped our food, she didn’t say, Thanks for the patience, sorry you had to wait”… all she said was “Anything else?
Did we not deserve just one
“I’m sorry for the delay”
OR
“Thank you for your understanding”??
When we paid…” no apologies again, or did you enjoy your food? “
My husband and I met and came from the restaurant business almost 30 years ago….we certainly understand the quality and necessity of GOOD service!!
She deserved A ZERO TIP for her horrible attitude ( which other reviews have noted, “could she at least smile?) but we tip her anyway…for that server ( not all) very subZERO service ( nothing to do with wait time on food- its about the person who in there title is a food server- which hopefully comes with common courtesy.
Sadly..we will not be coming back!

What a GREAT experience! Wonderful owner who truly can cook a GREAT breakfast… not a greasy dish, but utterly Great breakfast!!!
I didn’t know it was even there, right across from the Opera house with ample street parking too…
It’s a smaller place, so it feels cozy and small town comfort…
plus+++ You get to SUPPORT a LOCAL restaurant and that’s what truly matters anymore..
It’s an awesome place to be and I went for the first time a few days ago with a friend and knew I had to bring my hubby here..
So glad we have a place like this.

Luigi the cook makes this place rock. He’s a great guy and an excellent cook. Fast and attentive service, fairly priced hometown little diner. I’m a fan of the Ruben omelette. It’s fantastic. Go there, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. The owner at Mark’s Midtown Coney Café was flat-out rude, and for some reasons lies about not being the owner. The staff clearly didn’t care about their customers. The entire place gave off an unpleasant vibe. Like you’re not wanted there unless you fit a certain mold. It’s the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to walk right back out the door. Definitely not worth your time or money. There are plenty of better, friendlier places to eat in Howell.

Nothing screams more than a home town mom and and pop restaurant. The food is 10/10, service is 100/10! When you walk into a restaurant and it’s so busy, you know they are doing something right. Food here is made with love and made to order! Definitely check this place out!
