The album dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd is a very good album. I would simply like people to know that. Along with that people should dine at this fine establishment

My sisters came back for a visit so we all got together at a convenient location for all our Aunties. We met at Mark’s for lunch and had a wonderful time. We laughed and visited, ate lunch and enjoyed every minute. We chose a time after lunch rush so we wouldn’t disturb the other customers. We had our waitress Donna all to ourselves. She did a fantastic job. No order mishaps. Everything was delicious and not a murmur was heard about the anyone unhappy with their lunch. Most of us had a piece of some excellent pie made from scratch. Our Aunties took theirs To Go. So Delectable! My hubby has been wanting to take me there to eat and he was disappointed that he didn’t get to go with us. Especially when he found out how good it was. I give Mark’s Cafe, and Donna five stars. Great home town stopping point!

We stopped here on our way home to Indiana. This, by far, was one of the best home cooked breakfasts we’ve had. Skip the big chains. They don’t compare. I had a menu special of 2 homemade biscuits and gravy, home fries, 1 egg and coffee for $7. It’s a little hole in the wall, so don’t expect famcy. People were very nice.

Update 7-8-22: People are still very nice. They’ve upgraded their booths, so no more torn seating. We got biscuits and gravy with home fries. The gravy wasn’t as good as we remembered. It was too thick. The coffee had been on for awhile, so tasted like it. For 2 people the cost was $15. We will probably try somewhere else next time, which is unfortunate.

Stopped in for breakfast on our way to Effingham to see the Eclipse.

To quote Han Solo: “[The place] may not look like much, but it’s got where it counts”

The food was excellent, the service was outstanding.

A gem, to be sure.

(As long as you don’t need to use the restrooms).

Stopped for breakfast on our way through this area. Their food was amazing and they were kind enough to accommodate my daughter’s and my (mild) food allergies. Great place and I highly recommend it!

I have no idea why this is rated so highly. There were only two entrees on the menu. I got fried chicken. It was barely seasoned and dry as a bone. For sides, I got corn casserole (average ), potato salad (average ), stewed apples (tasted like sugar an cinnamon, not apple, and also had seeds in it), and tapioca pudding (average). One of the glasses we got with water was dirty. Upon checkout, I got the real surprise. Somehow that amount of food cost $14. But then, in 2021, I was charged an extra $2 to pay with a credit card. Also then our waitress asked how much of a tip I wanted to leave, so I felt awkward and tipped way too high.

The food was good, you got plenty. Service could have been a little better, I worked in restaurants for a long time and I hope no one felt s unwelcome as we did.

We stopped on our way back from the Indy car race at WWT in St. Louis. We prefer the mom and pop restaurants and this one did not disappoint. True home cooking in a really small little town.

You would think that since this is the only restaurant in the area, they would have high prices; not so! On a trip across the country and this was the best food for the most reasonable prices. Thank you for a great meal! The decor is so cute too
