Amazing experience at Markette! We had a lovely anniversary dinner here. I couldn’t get a reservation on resy but I called the restaurant and they were able to get us in at a reasonable time. The food and drinks were delicious – especially loved the fish, pita, and rice. The cocktails were amazing and the dessert was out of this world. Exceptional service as well. Will definitely be returning!

Markette is definitely upscale. I dined solo and chose the Braised Oxtail Gratin, it was very well done, layered, flavorful with a bit of a kick. It felt authentic, elevated and enough for a whole meal for me! Drinks were also well done by the lovely bartender Rika, I had the Snake in the Grass! Decor is tasteful, bathrooms are clean and vibey with a designer candle burning. I loved all the details! Would for sure bring girlfriends or family back here.

Food was delicious nice blend of flavors with Caribbean influences. Moody lighting and atmosphere creates a great date vibe. There is also a nice lounge downstairs with a separate menu that’s just as good. The staff are on point with everything keeping the room flowing smoothly. The one and only note I have is the portions are a little small so if there is a few things on the menu you’re choosing btwn just get them all! Plates are meant for sharing so order plenty. We had the cod fish fritters, caviar and hash browns, rock shrimp linguine, and the pan seared dorade with the stracciatella ice cream for dessert. Everything was 10/10. We will definitely be returning!

This was yummy! I liked the lamb a lot. And the cod fish fried ball things. The tuna appetizer was fresh & fun. The pasta was a skip for me. It was fine but very basic. Desserts were also OK but I wouldn’t get again.

Service is a bit odd. You have to add all the food at once so they can time it? Idk sounds a bit like poor kitchen process management.

stunning new spot. upscale and still comfortable. been three times. twice upstairs and once at argyle. the flavors haven’t left my mind since and the staff were warm, human, and approachable. oh and the drinks! the drinks.

We came here for a birthday dinner after a show and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The service was exceptional and the food was right up there with it.

We started out with a cocktail and a glass of wine and were told to order family style. Our starters were the flatbread, which was the only dish we didn’t love and the tuna. The texture of the tuna was perfect, but the sauce is what leveled up the dish.

For a main we got the lamb and curried lentils, served with pita, crunchy rice and cabbage, and a side of squash. This was plenty of food for the both of us. The lamb was so tender it just melted in your mouth. A bite with the crunchy rice and cabbage hit every craving. Personally though, I love the squash the most.

As it was my birthday, they gave me a complimentary scoop of their stracciatella ice cream which was delightful. Not too sweet as ice cream can be.

As great as the food was, the host made our experience. He came and asked about our meal and why were we visiting and loved our story so much that he gave us two drinks on the house, which were exceptional.

We were in town for one day only and this was the best way to cap off our night before heading to the airport.

Really great evening. We had dinner at the bar during restaurant week. The staff was super nice, welcoming and helpful to determine what to pick on the menu. The food was really good and the pace was perfect. I noticed the attention to detail in the service. I liked the different components that came with some of the dishes, it enables to mix and match and share with the table. The music was not too loud and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
What we ordered:
The salt cod fritters and bibb salad for apetizers
The roasted carrot curry and peri peri chicken for entrees
The blood orange cheesecake and burnt honey & apple for desserts

I loved this place more than I thought I would. Every dish was executed perfectly and great portions! Cod fritters was delicious with the sauce. The sunchokes had all kinds of fun flavors and textures. Peri peri chicken was def the star with flavor and cooked perfectly. A must try!

Unique food in a stylish setting. Every dish was delicious. Tuna crudo and cod fritters with a spicy creamy sauce were yummy. The highlight of the meal was the oxtail with fried shallots. Spicy and earthy and absolutely divine. Peri peri chicken and dorade were perfect mains. Service friendly and informative. Drinks were excellent. Will definitely return.

Been to NYC many times and haven’t had food as good as I’ve had at Markette. The fusion of cuisines makes for dishes that you can’t help but eat every bite even when you are full. The Grilled Flatbread was astounding and my friends Shrimp Linguine didn’t stand a chance. I’m vegetarian and the chef was more than able to accommodate.

The service was exceptional and John really knew his stuff!! Was able to recommend drinks to pair with meals and very friendly. The drinks were beyond delicious and creative. The ambience was lovely on a chilly winter night and exactly what we needed!

Chef India has created a gem in the heart of Manhattan so if you’re looking for a great place to have a beautiful meal then get in to Markette and enjoy an exceptional experience and maybe wear some stretchy pants.
