Our First — and Definitely Last — Visit
Last was supposed to be a special seafood dinner for our group of 3 adults and 1 child. Our total bill came to almost $700, including a $75 tip, so we truly expected an exceptional experience.
I ordered the Alaskan king crab (1 leg) and one lobster, with a side of clam chowder. As you can see from my plate, the portions were modest for the price. The taste was okay — nothing particularly special or memorable, especially for someone who is 5 months pregnant and genuinely craving good seafood.
Unfortunately, about an hour after dinner, I started experiencing severe stomach pain. The rest of the night was terrible — vomiting and intense discomfort. Being pregnant made the experience even more concerning and upsetting.
For the price we paid, we expected quality, freshness, and care. Sadly, this experience left us disappointed and physically unwell. This was our first visit — and it will definitely be our last.

The Manager Chris is super cool. Came in and got Oysters, Stuffed Mushrooms, and some alcoholic beverages. Both were really good! Ashley and Victor were super friendly and accommodating. Overall great date night!

We’ve been booking Market Street Grill through Resy because our Amex CC gives us a dining credit, which can be used at this restaurant. The first time I went here, the food was good but not great. I though it was weird that they piled bacon and raw onions on my steak, but it was fine after scraping them off.

The second time I went here was when it was bad. I ordered a steak and asked the server if they could inform the chef that I have a gluten allergy, so they could clean a spot on the grill. I don’t know what they used to clean the grill, but my steak tasted like a dirty rag. My wife said her steak also tasted a bit funny. It was so bad that I threw away most of it. I’m not the type of person that generally sends food back, but I wish I would’ve. For the price you pay here, you deserve quality food. I will not be returning unfortunately.

We ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip, Crispy Calamari, Filet Mignon with a Cold-Water Lobster Tail and Clam Chowder, Latin Spiced Halibut (seasonal), and Strawberry Short Cake. The artichoke dip was a little different than I’m used to and I didn’t enjoy it, but the rest of my table did. The calamari was one of the best I’ve had. The steak and lobster were pretty depressing, but the mashed potatoes and broccoli were good. The clam chowder was fantastic; definitely choose that over the salad. The Latin Spiced Halibut won’t be for everyone, but it has good flavor and is prepared well. The strawberry short cake is an S-tier dessert, and a must-order.

Our waitress was nice and offered helpful suggestions, and was prompt with service up until our food was ready at the station. She then became deep in conversation with a coworker for 15 minutes, leaving us twiddling our thumbs and longingly looking at our food under the lights. This wasn’t a one-off experience; I’ve found the staff are usually nice and friendly, but the level of professionalism doesn’t match the expected tip on an expensive meal.

The atmosphere is fine, but as with most seafood-centric places, it attracts a primarily senior audience. It’s also pretty quiet on the weekdays, as in I questioned if it was still open. Red Lobster is a peg down from Market Street, but I prefer Red Lobster. This place has better appetizers and desserts, but I’ve been far more satisfied at the cheaper (albeit failing) chain. If I’m going for upscale dining, I’ll head downtown for a nice steakhouse where both quality and service will be higher. The price to satisfaction definitely isn’t here for me, and I don’t plan on coming back. However, if Market Street Grill starts doing takeout orders on the Strawberry Short Cake, I would definitely get that on a regular basis.

A fantastic meal! The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and impressively large—I couldn’t quite finish it. The scallops were delicious and full of flavor. I missed taking a photo of the clam chowder, but it’s an absolute must-try—easily the best I’ve ever had!

We ordered the coconut shrimp for an appetizer, Hawaiian ahi tuna with clam chowder for dinner. The food was ok, definitely overpriced.

I was taken as an early Valentine’s dinner date. Thinking this was a fancy nice place. Started out I asked for water with lemon. No lemon received. The clam chowder was good, but when my main course came out, new York strip steak with fingerling potatoes. Immediately my plate looked so unappetizing! The potatoes were charred and oil was covering my plate and I have no idea what the chopped up pile of veggies were???? I had about 4 bites of the steak and it was tough and no flavor! So I didn’t eat anymore of it. Then when we asked for boxes to go, they were dropped at the table for us to box up. Didn’t even provide a bag to carry them out! So $150 dinner was a complete disappointment. Don’t waste your money here. You’ll be happier pretty much anywhere else.

Had a hankering for oysters but was hesitant living in a land locked state. Market Street Grill did not disappoint. Jacob, our server, was very knowledgeable and took great care of us. Plus the fish lights are adorable. We will be back!

The Market Street Grill is a nice restaurant with a higher end atmosphere. They had prime rib as a special that they said is back by poplar demand. The meat was really chewy and didn’t taste very good. I wish I would’ve gotten their steak instead. We got their chocolate cake for dessert and I wasn’t a fan. It’s definitely not worth the calories. This location has plenty of free parking.
