I had heard raves about this place so was excited to try it out. We were greeted warmly as we entered and were seated at a
table. Server took our drink
orders- I got a bloody mary and my daughter got a gin and tonic. Her drink was fine but mind had an ” off” taste I couldn’t pinpoint. I ended up
only drinking half of it. My daughter ordered a burger and fries and broccoli soup. I ordered the salad bar. Her food was good. I wish I had gone to look at the salad bar first because it was messy and unappetizing. I put together a small salad and wished there were some crackers or bread to go with it. It was ok, homemade dressing was pretty good. Server never checked on us until we were almost done. I asked her for a napkin and my daughter asked for water. When the server brought us the bill she asked me to fill
out a survey, but she was standing right there watching so I wasn’t going to fill it out with her there. I usually tip 20% but I just wasn’t that happy with the meal so I tipped 15%. I think in the future I’ll stick with Pueblo Lindo and the Arcade when I’m
in Paxton for lunch.

We came back last night because the country fried steak is back. This is a good plate to order, it’s always been good. We were seated promptly, waitress took our drink orders. Got our drinks, I normally order a pain killer because they’ve always been pretty good, last night I am certain there was gin in it and not rum. Went to order appetizers and the smoky chicken rolls were not available. Ordered the Mac and cheese bites instead , they were good. However, our appetizer and our food came out at the same time. The salad bar comes with our meal, but the salad bar was bare, hardly any lettuce left. Our waitress, Kaylee came back once while we were eating to check on us. We waited awhile and our waitress did not return, went up front, didn’t see anyone, asked the lady at the bar about drinks, she handed me the beer my husband asked for and I ordered a dark and stormy and she said she would bring it to me. Went to my seat, waited longer, finally our waitress shows up, asked for boxes and a lid and told the waitress I was still waiting for my drink. She walks away, goes behind the bar, more time passes, nothing, went back up front no one there. See a drink sitting on the bar and was certain it was mine. Went back to my seat and waited longer. Go back to the front another waitress stops and asks me what she can do for me. I explained to her that our waitress had not returned, pretty sure my drink was sitting in the bar, never got our boxes. She says let me go find your waitress. Go back to my seat, our waitress appears, with an attitude, rudely says here’s your drink (which was the one sitting on the bar) and your boxes. Have a good night and walked off. This was the absolutely worst service I have ever received here. Please do better. We used to enjoy coming here, but it’s been going downhill for a bit now.

my family and i went to eat dinner, we got there maybe around 6:45 – 7, the sign on the door says that they close at 10:00 pm. i’ll start by saying that our waitress was nice, but seemed very flustered and confused the entire time. our drinks took forever to come out, 3 of us got the salad bar, there were no forks at the salad bar, we had to ask 3 different times for silverware before we finally got it brought to our table, after sitting with our plates for maybe 10-15 minutes. our food took forever to come out (there was only 3 other tables inside). when our food came out, one of us was missing our side and we nicely asked for those. she came back to check on us right at 8:00 (dinner wasn’t even completely out there yet) and asked if she could get us anything else, we asked for two more drinks and were told that the bar/restaurant closed at 8 (we were still eating and had NO IDEA they closed at 8, didn’t get a last call or notified in any way that they closed at 8 until then), at this point another waitress comes over to tell us again that they wouldn’t be serving us any more drinks. then, they bring the rest of the food out IN A TO GO BOX. we clearly weren’t even done eating yet. then (we assume it was the manager) comes over and was immediately extremely disrespectful to us, rolling her eyes and telling us that the bar across the street is open and we can go over there. this was the worst customer service experience i’ve ever had, 0/10 will not be coming back.

Nice, clean place, friendly staff. We were seated by a hostest, and our service was quick and accomadating. Food was good, nice portions. The prices were very reasonable. We will absolutely return!

We’ve been coming to this location for years (when it was a previous restaurant) and have emotional ties from that period of time. The Paxton Punch drink option drew us back here over a year ago, and the food and service were initially very good. While the food remains tasty, there have been some recent inconsistencies with menu items not being available (past 3 visits, the Smokey Chicken Rolls were not available). Last night, my chicken tender dinner request was substituted as boneless chicken wings (the server stated that they couldn’t serve the other item). The biggest issue right now seems to be staffing. Our past few visits, we’ve entered to an empty front counter with no hostess greeting us (eventually someone shows up). The staff is still friendly (a plus!) but there just needs to be some fine tuning with respect to full menu items being available and there should always be someone ready to greet and seat customers as they arrive. Servers are the heart of any business; their tone sets the mood and the possibilities of return customers. We will likely now take a break for a while and see if these aspects of the business improve. I hope so, because this place has so many things going for it!

Be sure to add Market Street Grill to your must try list. The amount of dedication shows in all aspects of this local small business. The decor, both inside and out, the service, and the great menu keep us coming back on a weekly basis. My family has their favorites, like the bacon bacon burger, Nashville hot chicken sandwich, Mac n cheese, and Smokey chicken egg rolls, but at this point we have tried the entire menu and honestly enjoy it all and switch things up all the time. For the French fry aficionados out there, this place has the best fries around. The salad bar is great and offers more than most higher priced establishments. The ever changing items that end up as daily specials are always creative and delicious concoctions from the mind of chef Ryan.
The layout offers 3 different dining experiences. There is a very cozy traditional diner area that is great for a quiet family meal. The interior bar area is dark and trendy with a setup perfect for a night out with friends or to catch the big game. The recently opened outdoor area is clean, and comfortable with tables large enough for groups as well as a nice fire pit area and outdoor bar seating to enjoy the weather and occasional live music.
If you’re looking for something different to try, give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed. A true hidden gem that Paxton is lucky to have.

Well, we never ate there when we visited because after we were seated we have 4 wait staff walk slowly past us. Look at us, take 2 people to clear a table with 2 dishes on it and not once ask us a thing. No sign of anyone after we were initially seated so we waited about 10 min and got to and left and went down the road to Pueblo Lindo where they do know how to take care of their customers. The place was not busy at all. There were 2 tables with people eating and 1 table with people who also still had menus in their hands but had drinks dropped off at the table.
